The humanmetrics typology exam, together with the Myers Briggs analysis, are tools for determining individual preferences for making decisions, processing information, and relating to others. Overall, the two tests aid in presenting an overview of an individual's personality and conduct. These two tests yielded a variety of personalities, including Introverted, Intuitive Sensing, and Judging (INFJ). Despite the fact that this is a complicated personality, I believe it will be extremely advantageous to my nursing profession.
INFJs are persons that are passionate about helping others and are at ease debating philosophical concerns (Moshenkov & Wing, 2010). These people would take opportunities to go and meet up with people who have common interests and attitudes because they prefer listening than talking. As a nurse, empathy and listening are some of the behaviors that are highly beneficial. They are personalities that give me the opportunity to listen to my patients and colleagues and care for them. It allows me to know people intimately just as expected in other INFJ's, and this is especially significant for my career in nursing (Corie, 2012).
When it comes to career development, Corie (2012) explains that it is very important for INFJ's to be in a position where they can research on a variety of aspects. As intuitive people, INFJ's are highly interested in solving problems by listening to the opinions of other people. As explained by Moshenkov and Wing (2010), this is a trait that is effective in an environment that is challenging such as nursing. The combination of intuition and judgment may prove useful when it comes to developing evidence-based research. I believe that I am better suited in my nursing career as an INFJ.
