The Negative Image of Nursing in Grey's Anatomy
The YouTube video clip given is from episode four of season fourteen of the television show "Grey's Anatomy," which is about nursing and healthcare. Bailey and Webber are shown in the video questioning interns who reply to the questions presented by the two. It is noticed in their responses that only one of the five interns interviewed provides an explanation that is relevant to nursing (GreySloan, 2017). However, when she suggests that nurses educate patients and treat them with kindness, both Bailey and Webber dismiss her remarks, claiming that no patient has ever died as a result of nurses being unpleasant. Notably, the idea that the nurse leaders sit back at the desks with entirely no idea of how patients should be treated and the value communication plays in patient care portrays a negative image of nursing.
The Challenge of Medicare Drug Prices
In my community, just like the rest of the United States and the global community at large, one of the pressing health care issues is the Medicare drug prices. The existing drugs for the treatment of chronic diseases are provided at a higher cost that cannot be afforded by every member of the society. As a result, the available drugs have been reserved for the wealthy members of the community who can afford to purchase them. In the United States, the healthcare sector attempts to institute regulations on drug prices but has not managed to make the drugs affordable for every member of the community. The rising drug prices are threatening the success of healthcare provided in countries and regions where the residents are low-income earners. As such, there is a high propensity for crippling of the healthcare system and development of a healthy nation.
