About criminal justice

Criminal Justice

Criminal justice is the process of prosecuting criminals, expelling them from society, and preventing future criminal activity. The US employs a number of techniques to maintain public order.

Civil Liberties

In the United States, civil liberties are another strategy frequently used to deal with maintaining civil order. There is a clause in the constitutions of the USA and nations like England that protects people's liberties even when they break the law. These laws are in place to safeguard people from governmental wrongdoing and other breaches. The situation is very different in places like Saudi Arabia and China, though. In Saudi Arabia, women, religious minorities, and children are likely the target for injustice since they use Islamic religious laws.

Armed Forces Violence

There is also the use of Armed forces violence. This method of maintaining law and order involves the use of aid from the military. This provision is stated in the constitution that it is only applicable in some circumstances such as when a state is unable to contain a domestic violence and requests for federal assistance (Durden). An example was in the year 1970 when armed forces opened fire to a crowd that was protesting at Kent State University resulting in four deaths and wounding nine students. In England, it was also observed when a campaigner known as Peach was blown off fatally in 1979.

Death Penalty

Also, the Death penalty is another method employed in the USA to punish those that are believed to have done an unforgivable crime. Just like in some countries such as China, Japan, and Saudi Arabia the method is used to punish unforgivable crime.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the USA employs several methods to maintain law and order. In comparison to model countries, some methods apply to both the USA and the respective countries. The methods in use differ with the policies and the kind of laws that are applicable in the respective country, for instance, Saudi Arabia where they use Islamic laws; their methods tend to differ with the United States and other nations.
