Scientific research have shown that individual personality can influence the risk of a variety of health issues throughout time. People with type A personalities are hard-working, impatient, and never frustrated. Although such people are regarded achievers, studies show that they have high amounts of stress hormones, which damage their overall well-being and health. Highly motivated persons may put a strain on physical systems, resulting in hazardous health issues and, eventually, death.
People with type A personalities are more likely to have high blood pressure. The individuals have high levels of adrenaline, a chemical hormone that’s associated to fight or flight action. Such persons are in high gear and very ready to take the competition no matter the risk they are exposed to. The ability to take competition in high gear exposes these people to chronic conditions, leading increased blood pressure and related diseases.
Type A personality people also experience stress and high blood pressure. The two conditions in severity can lead to stroke. Medication to manage emotions can help such individuals to control blood pressure episodes. Other techniques can as well be used to manage stress and subsequent health conditions associated with stress.
Type A personality is also linked to heart diseases. The combination of hypertension, poor diet, obesity and physical inactivity put Type personality individuals in the risk of heart diseases. The individuals are prone to a higher level of cholesterol, a risk factor for cardiovascular conditions. Again, hormones associated with stress can potentially cause inflammation to the blood vessels thus blocking the blood movement and circulation. When a critical level is achieved for these conditions, the heart attack can be an outcome.
