The Four Personality Types

The discussion question is based on the four personality types, which are A, B, C, and D, and the diseases that are associated with them. The people with A personality types are mostly very restless and aggressive, aiming to get everything done impeccably by themselves. They are wary of other people, especially when they can carry out a task more quickly and efficiently than the other people. Despite this, they are constantly insecure about the fact that they might not be giving their best. As advocated by the research, this personality type is linked to the coronary heart diseases.

Type B personality is the opposite of the personality A. They are more concerned about relaxing, enjoying, and building and maintaining their relationships. They are less likely to be stressed, as they do not have the drive to be most successful and work at their own pace. Moreover, these people can be successful regardless of the fact that they can be procrastinators and thoughtless while working. They are lesser prone to heart diseases than people with type A personality because they reveal what they feel fearlessly and do not take life seriously.

The type C personality is a combination of various and diverse characteristics that make these individuals very different from that of types A and B. They value other people and are sensitive to what the other people desire. In the process, they give preference to other people's want over their own, especially if there is a conflict of interests. On the contrary, this kind of behavior has negative aspects as well. For starters, the underlying drive to be altruistic is the need to have the approval of the people in the surroundings. They need continuous assurance that they are doing great. Moreover, to avoid the disagreements, they suppress their emotions and feelings. Thus, they are usually very stressed and are vulnerable to have health problems, especially cancer.

The D personalities are denoted by the people that are pessimistic and cynical. They are full of negative and destructive feelings and are inclined to overthink everything. They are distrustful of everyone and even themselves. As a consequence, they might also have to deal with the problems of anxiety and irritability. Their prime focus is on the mishaps and hence, any such event has a great influence on their lives. These people are more likely to be depressed or deal with the psychological issues and heart diseases.

Any real-life situations will have a dissimilar impact on each of the personality type. For example, assuming there is a situation where a person’s new car gets damaged due to an accident, while his friend was driving after he insisted a lot. Personality A would be, at first, very reluctant to give the new car to his friend and would be very angry and stressed after the accident. On the contrary, B would be convinced with a little request and would be eager to think how the damage can be undone after the accident. The C would blame himself for all that happened, and remain quiet towards his friend even if that made him angry. D would believe that accident was bound to happen, no matter who drove the car. He would continue to look at all other aspects that could possibly go wrong, such as he should not have bought the car in the first place, rather than trying to fix the broken car. Hence, the people would have a different reaction according to their type of personality; however, a person can have a combination of the characteristics from the various personality types.
