Alcohol and Driving
Alcohol shouldn't be consumed before or while operating a motor vehicle. It changes the victim's brain chemistry, which lowers their ability for sound reasoning. Driving requires drivers to read traffic signs correctly, which is impossible to do while intoxicated. Driving while under the influence of any substance on a busy road is likely to have negative effects on both the driver and the public.
Accidents and Dangers of Drinking and Driving
Previous studies have demonstrated that drinking and driving can result in accidents. (Azofeifa, Mattson, and Lyerla 1326). Drivers frequently fall asleep at the wheel, which can cause them to lose their bearings. Besides, a driver is likely to over speed while drunk, which can cause an accident. Over speeding can cause injury both to the passengers and to the driver.
Traffic Congestion and Legal Consequences
Moreover, driving under the influence of alcohol can cause traffic congestion on busy roads since the driver will not be able to drive properly. Drivers also risk paying hefty fines for traffic misconduct when noticed by the traffic police. Regarding the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol, the government should impose a heavy penalty as compensation for the crime (Azofeifa, Mattson, and Lyerla 1327). The fine will make some people who are not able to pay such fine to avoid driving while drunk. Creation of awareness on the effects of driving under the influence of any drug is also necessary.
Conclusion
Concisely, it is important to understand how driving under the influence of drug has affected the victims to act as examples to others. It is good if the citizens decide for themselves to avoid it rather than being forced not to do that.
