This course provided me with vital information.
The most intriguing areas include sociability, creativity, invention, organization, and hygiene. During my volunteer program, I was able to interact with children and other individuals thanks to my knowledge of socialization. For example, I could approach an antisocial youngster and discover that she was introverted. In the workplace, creativity and innovation are also vital. The knowledge I received in this course and the experience I gained from the volunteer program will allow me to communicate with others, especially those who exhibit introverted behavior, and to create an environment that encourages their invention and creativity. On the other hand, knowledge on environmental conservation helped me to mobilize my volunteer friends to clean the environment around the church. Human activities contribute significantly to pollution thus people should be in the front to conserve it and ensure ecological balance. I look forward to promoting environmental protection in the organization for which I will work and the entire society.
I have also learned to be organized.
The knowledge drove me to guide my friends during volunteer to organize church documents to ensure that they are kept in an orderly manner. Organizational skills will also help me in my future place of work to avoid losing important documents. I also learned hygiene which proved useful in my volunteer program. I taught people at the church about the importance of maintaining body hygiene. The knowledge will help me to maintain body hygiene and help those around me to ensure their hygiene. Last but not least important, I have realized that a teacher should have empathy. The knowledge enabled me to identify people with personal disturbing issues and help them. Being empathetic will help me to understand issues affecting others and help them where possible in the future.
Part II
Although there are many things that would have made my experience at the university better, community service would have the most outstanding impact. First thing, community service would increase my sense of self-efficacy. Students who engage in community service can make difference with things they do. For example, community service would have helped me to better understand my competence hence leading to more self-confidence as well as a can-do attitude. These would boost my work and academic pursuits.
The volunteer program, GCU advisors, technical support, and professors had the most positive influence in my Grand Canyon experience.
For instance, professors are often in a forum discussing issues with students and provide responses in timely manners. On the other hand, the technical support is knowledgeable and solves issues efficiently and quickly. The volunteer program allowed me to participate in communities, identify issues affecting the residents, and care about what happens in the community.
My experience at the GCU changed my life in some ways.
First thing, the university’s Christian principles, and studies provided an encouraging and safe environment for me to grow spiritually. For example, the University allows students to meet in conference halls and invite pastors from different religions for prayer and worship at different times. As such, one gets a chance to grow spiritually. The university also helps students to attain their professional dreams by linking them to potential employers and volunteer programs. Indeed, most of the students who have graduated from this university have been successful in their areas of study. The university also helped to develop personally through networking with different professionals.
These experiences impact my future in various ways.
First and foremost, the education I have acquired from the university has helped me to become a competent educator and administrator. As such, I will enrich lives of other people by delivering quality education to different schools and community settings in the future.
GCC has also prepared me for professional life in various ways.
First thing, I have acquired knowledge, skills, and attitude needed in the current job market. Therefore, I believe that I will not have challenges getting a well-paid job. The University paves a way forward for students to develop the knowledge and skills they acquire and push their intellectual limits to become successful in their professions.
Part III
The volunteer program provided me invaluable leadership skills. Needless to say, workplaces and other institutions need innovations and creativity especially for those who like to work alone. I have realized that it is important to provide workers with a favorable work environment which boosts innovation and creativity while at the same time taking advantage of their strengths.
