The Cowboy's Triumph

The cowboy rode blissfully that evening. It was a great day for him after being endorsed for his great achievements. He was ranked the best cowboy and his boss was very excited about his choice of the worker. He glared at the nature around the horizon from under his broad-brimmed hat excited with himself and thanked God for the success. The events of the day were colorful involving different activities including horse riding. He was the man of the day. Frank was thin but with broad shoulder and strong arms and had a long black mustache. His body figure was admired by many.

A Surprising Encounter

Not everyone though appreciates the good in someone. From afar he saw a group of horse riders riding really fast towards him. His heart melted, he knew for sure it was his girlfriend who was always full of surprises who had come with her friends to celebrate him. They came close and he looked up to see them, to his disappointment they were strange people with fierce faces. They had faces full of revenge. He wondered what wrong he had done, he didn’t remember wronging anyone. He was a person who got along with crowds. His eyes narrowed and with his hand, he reached for his gun and deep in his heart he believed God would deliver him praying unto Him not to allow his achievements to be followed by curses. He recognized one of the riders. He remembered seeing him with a friend to his boss. He knew for sure it was not his boss who had sent them. The boss was sincerely happy about him, increasing his salary and offering to him so many favors. He was definitely not behind his friend’s deed. The cowboy believed in his abilities and believed he would find a way to conquer the four gigantic men facing him. He was a fast horse rider and would escape but chose to face the challenge.

The Power of Words

The cowboy alighted from the horse in his tall roper-style boots with a square structured front folding the sleeves of his well-buttoned shirt and demanded them to challenge him. They laughed fiercely with a sarcastic laughter. The idea of putting up a fight was not the only choice he had. He had the choice of talking them over the issue as the law requires and as a cowboy trait. He withdrew the idea of a fight and said to the men, “Killing a man’s dream doesn’t make you the winner. There will always be someone better than you and you will not kill them all. You should work on making your dreams real by hard work, determination and passion being your drive. Everyday people will make you do things to them for their own reasons; sometimes malicious reasons and the next day will be others sent to do the same to you, only do what you agree with and never what your values differ with.” It was a brief speech but was efficient.
