Human Right and the Film "Out of State"
Human right is essential moralities belonging to an individual and in whose application a Government may not interfere. Out of State is one of the film line up of USF's sixth Annual Human Rights Film Festival. The producer of Out of State is Ciara Lacy. Out of State bagged several awards including Best Feature Documentary in 2017 Hawaii International Film Festival and 2017 San Diego Asian Film Festival. Out of State is about two Hawaiians, David and Hale imprisoned in Arizona desert, which is miles away from their island. David and Hale discover their indigenous traditions from a fellow inmate. The unlikely setting makes the two imprisoners finish their terms and get back home with hopes of a new beginning. David and Have are enthusiastic to prove to their families that they are better persons ever they also have the doubts of whether they can finally get home. The essay analyses the overabundance of native Hawaiians and minorities in prison, clinical behavior cycle and its impacts on the family and prisoner entitlement in a character-driven documentary in line with human rights.
The Overabundance of Native Hawaiians in the Prison System
The overabundance of native Hawaiians in the prison system lead to David and Have discovering their purpose as they learn their native language and culture including the dancing styles. The knowledge about the indigenous culture is from fellow inmates who decide to teach other inmates from their motherland. The cultural awareness enables David and Have to make critical decisions about becoming better for life once they complete the term in prison. The prison system involving the minority gives the prisoners a chance to discover their purpose in life, make better decisions that make inmates like David and Have ready to join their families and begin their new life as better persons. Though taking the prisoners' miles away from their island compromised their rights, David and Have eventually got the right to learn their culture.
Clinical Behavior Cycles in Prison
Clinical behavior cycles in prison make the inmates rediscover their purpose in life. David and Have choose to learn their native culture and change to be better persons; they got the right to cultural heritage through a fellow inmate while in prison. The impact of the clinical behavior is paramount as the family is ready to receive David and Have after finishing the prison term. The two prisoners also decide to prove themselves and their families that they can be better individuals once back in the family. David and Have get their right to love and affection by their families once they finish their term in prison. The two inmates also get their right to freedom after the term.
Prisoner Entitlement
The prisoner entitlement is crucial. Prisoners are entitled to several human rights and observing the term the prisoner should serve is to the latter. The prisoner is entitled to freedom once serving the time. David and Have returning to Hawaii once finishing their term was freedom of a kind. The two prisoners also interacted with fellow inmates, which enabled them to learn their indigenous culture and the dance moves as part of the recreation while in prison. The freedom to mingle allows David and Have to change the character and choose to be better people to their families and uphold their culture and teachings. The change in the character of the two prisoners was vital to their future life once out of prison.
Conclusion
In conclusion, some of the human rights of prisoners are not in value when taking David and Have miles away from their island. The imprisonment separated the prisoners from their family members. David and Have get their freedom back once they complete their terms in prison. The two prisoners have a change in character due to learning their culture in detail while in prison. The culture knowledge enables David and Have to change for the better once out of jail and forever.
