It appears as if the day evolves into a night the same way individual’s transform and evolves as well. Diane is a forty-two years old woman who her life has been full miseries all through. In the first place, her mother passed away of cancer illness last year, while his father Walter, who is aged seventy-four lives in a family home where Dianne was brought up. Walter, his father, has been smoking as early from when he was 14 years old and at the same time remains heavily alcoholic. He is retired and isolated with his deteriorating poor health. Dianne is much worried about his father, who do not manage well both physically and emotionally even though she regularly visit him to offer the required support.
Dianne has two kids of her own, and she works part-time as well as supporting her spouse in a small business they operate. Dianne is not only socially stressed, but also financially stressed in bringing up her kids, the encounters with other family members (Restrepo et al., 2017, p.950). At this point, Dianne came alone to her first counseling appointment, to discuss and explore some of the matters she and her family are facing. Dianne and I will jointly be working on examining her current condition; we form a contact and intervention and counseling plans.
Assessment phase
The evaluation stage of general social work consultation consent to the social worker to assist the customer in empowerment, creating sensible judgments and suitable decisions making. The evolution stage allows the social worker as well as the client to form a strong founded problem-solving achievement strategy by analyzing the facts related to the current problems (Timberlake et al., 2015, p. 243). The social worker together with the client will jointly identify the client’s system strengths, the abilities, and the environmental resources. I reviewed on Dianne explained to me her major issues of distress, her kid's problems, financial constraints as well as the problems relating to the family at large.
Problem Prioritization
A social worker and the customer’s system to realize the contract planning, the intervention and counseling strategy stages must appropriately be prioritized with the problems and the requirements. This strategy will permit the social worker as well to the customer’s system to settle the requirement that should initially be addressed. For clients who hold more than one problem or requires to be put pending.
Psychological and Social Assessment.
At this point, I asked Dianne about her stresses and worries and how they had affected her mentally. Dianne was there and ready as she explained that apart from his father Walter who is physically and emotionally unfit, there is also her two boys, who make her not to comprehend why she feels so nervous where she has been missing her working sessions as well as arguments with Peta on unimportant matters (Boyd et al., 2014, p.435). Also explained the boys have been having problems with their respective teachers at school due to their disruptive habits in unstructured classrooms. Dianne, on the other hand, explained her social life which has weakened due to continuous stresses and worries about her boys, his father, the way they have been relating with other friends within the society. She at times fears his relation with his sons might one day get destroyed, as even the father has abandoned Dianne to handle with the boy's school matters as in most of the times uses much of his time at work which is away from home.
Spiritual Assessment.
In the session, Dianne confirmed she was a born-again Christian where she has enjoyed using most of her free time though rarely at church and on Sundays with his family. She also explained she had developed problems in facing multitude due to the stress she has lately developed because of the family problems she has been encountering. It appears apart from the family problems she is undergoing; she has a strong spiritual reflection and a good relationship with God.
Contract Planning
The subsequent session of our meeting with Dianne was to execute the contract plan permits the social worker as well as the customer to select activities and the objectives that they would like to realize accomplished and when these activities will be completed (Lillie-Blanton, 216, p.995). The contract will allow the client system to enhance their growth, flexibility, the outside resources and it will also assist in reducing the environmental challenges that the client might encounter otherwise. It is much significant that the client comprehensively comprehends the contract and what is being requested of her by the social worker. As Dianne have addressed on her current problems first, and because this is confirmed in the problem prioritization scale, then we have a comprehension of what we shall be handling first and what will consequently follow.
Intervention and the Counseling Plan
In this session of intervention and Counseling arrangement, strategies are set up in a strong founded problem resolving procedure of a general social work performed at a micro, the mezzo and the macro levels. Each of these levels of intervention and the counseling plan is set up to help specific matters and the concerns, contract strategies and objectives for several levels of clients systems. As Dianne is an individual system, we shall be working with an involvement and counseling strategies which will solely center on a micro-client system (Macionis, 2015). The micro system-level intervention will assist empower a client and also aid them in the problem resolving procedures. This will assist Dianne to attain control of their selves and the environment. Because of the fact that Dianne falls in an individual client system, then we have to choose the intervention and treatment plans that put emphasis on micro client systems.
Conclusion
The full general social work consultation is significant to undertake a holistic approach to every technique and the stage execution. Whether it is the examination, the contract planning or the involvement and counseling planning, a person requires observing all the features of the client systems environment. I opine that the contract planning stage is a very critical element to assist organized activities and the objectives, and award obligations to the client as well as the system. I have a feeling that, though all the theories and the practices have been executed in the whole consultation procedure will be helpful in the real-life conditions.
