In the current society, everyone is aware that technology plays a prominent role.


It is impossible to spend a day without hearing some news which is tied to technology in one way or the other. The reports may either be bad or good. Most of these stories focus on various effects of the impact of technology on the younger generation. Teenagers are the most prone group because it forms the most significant population which uses technology. Now more than ever, pre-teens and kids have also begun to use technology just as much as the adults and teenagers do. Unlike most adults and teenagers, the younger generation has been brought up with constant technology flux thus making them not to know how they can handle life without technology (Bell and Przybylski). What does the situation imply? What effect is the case creating currently and also will it create in future? Will it have a negative or a positive impact on growth of the younger generation?


Growing in this age of technology can be related to a double-edged sword.


The more advantages, the more the disadvantages. There are various advantages associated with the use of technology from a tender age. For instance, the utilization of the internet helps in school because it aids learners. Notably, internet makes students learn at their phase. When compared to the old days, it has made schooling and the learning process to be much interactive (Turner, 107). Nowadays, technology has enabled teenagers in school to have the world at their fingertips. It implies that if they want to know about a particular issue, they can engage the internet and have the answers within a short time. However, this is a factor which saves both time and resources which could otherwise be wasted if the technology was not there. To no doubt, technology has reduced the cost of life and made an exciting activity.


I think that the disadvantages are stronger than the cons.


First and foremost, the act of growing in an internet flux area has led to much over dependency on the internet. Due to its availability during their growth, there is a large percentage of the kids who are becoming more obsessed and hence dependent on technology (Bell and Przybylski). Indeed, most of the teenagers are relying more on the internet for everything. As a result, this has affected most of them in different ways especially in their social skills. If the younger generation continue to communicate in the social media through texting and other interacting platforms, they will not be able to physically interact with each other freely, and this will have a significant social impact in the society (Twenge, 95-99). Teenagers, pre-teens, and kids tend to copy almost everything. If they see an older parent or a sibling on the laptop, they will eventually take the same route. A large percentage is preferring to stay indoors glued to their screens rather than getting out to play. If they are left to continue with the habit, it would be tough to change them when they mature. This situation may lead to a future world where everyone is introverted and obsessed with technology.

In general, it is critical to note that teenagers are growing in a world which is so influenced by technology. Notably, the impacts of the technology are both negative and positive at the same time. I think that there is no wrong of utilizing the internet as long as a right balance is struck between the activities done by the younger generation such as going outside and playing some soccer or any other events such as reading a book. Because technology is unavoidable, it is essential for the society to device some methodologies and strategies which make the utilization of internet more beneficial while at the same time causing less harm to the growing generation.
