Teaching Strategies

Learning Techniques

Learning techniques are a methodology that aids in knowledge acquisition, according to Rubin (1975) (p.41-51). Students can learn more about the various subjects they study by reading descriptions using the Know, Want, and Learn chart technique (Ogle, 1986, p.564-570). It stands for evaluating your level of knowledge regarding the subject being studied, evaluating your level of interest regarding the issue, and ultimately learning more about the subject (Buehl, 2001). Students that study science gain knowledge and become more employable in their fields. It facilitates in learning new things, and creativity and innovation help in its execution. Therefore, KWL strategy will help them learn more and find things through observation and experimentation.

Scientific Teaching

Scientific teaching needs more engagement between the students and the tutor. There are some strategies to enable students to be able to learn and understand well the teaching. Firstly, the instructor must engage the students in answering questions and providing them will clarifications to enable them to have a clear understanding. Secondly, students should ask questions to learn more and also the tutors should ask them more issues to challenge their thinking of their teachings. Science lessons require more practical approach in the academic field. Therefore, tutors have the duty to engage the students in actual works and encourage them to be keen thus enable them to be able to invent things. Students should be involved in scientific arguments to allow them to enlarge their thinking capacity hence able to think outside the box (Lawson, 1995).

Strategies for Impactful Teaching

Finally, tutors must put up strategies which will enable them impact knowledge to students with ease. Students have different understanding abilities and different strategies can be used to favor each one of them. When a strategy fails a solution should be adopted immediately. Science teaching require a lot of participation between the teachers and students to bring up the best scientists in the world.
