Mental health condition can be overwhelming, specifically in teens. Many people overlook the mental health issues and concentrate on treating its aspect only. This paper identifies some of the essential details that health professionals miss while dealing with teens that have mental issues. Although many outlets exist, non-medical interventions always lay low, especially for the children who come from economically challenged societies. Teenagers who suffer in silence cannot realize how much their lives are at risk. As such, health professionals need to step up and apply multidimensional approaches in dealing with the situation.
First, Cyberbullying has disproportionate and ubiquity to teens that are vulnerable to mental issues, especially suicidal tendencies. Mental professionals need to apply a multipronged strategy and employ methods, such as media campaigns in addressing this concern (Aboujaoude et al. 15). Additionally, they need to apply school-based programs, involvement, and oversight from parents, interventions that are evidence-based, and legal actions. Second, health professionals have failed to identify secular changes in antisocial and emotional issues facing the teens. Therefore, they need to find explanations for the changing trends in adolescent and child mental issues (Collishaw 380). Moreover, they need to consider cross-cohort comparisons to provide complementary information regarding psychiatric problems.
Third, there exists quality evidence regarding the mindfulness-based stress reduction on the mental health professionals. Health professionals rarely study the positivity of having strong emotional competencies when dealing with teens who have mental problems (Lamothe et al. 22). The study of such outcomes is essential. Therefore, health professionals need to be in a position to explain patients' problems and enhance target interventions. Lastly, mental health professionals have failed to realize that studying economic dynamics for adolescents with psychiatric disorders is scarce. Most studies show how medics ignore the costs and outcomes of reviewing current economic solutions for children with mental disorders (Beecham 720). Thus, they ought to realize that poor economic trends have disastrous effects in treating mental illness in teens.
In conclusion, since mental illness cannot get better on its own, health professionals need to be updated with current treatment methods. Unmanaged mental health affects the development and general life of children. It is up to the professionals, parents and the government to coordinate in ensuring full recovery of mentally ill children.
