However, there are different educational levels that can be identified by the intricacy of their course work. Numerous people have questioned the value of a college education. This talk aims to present the benefits and drawbacks of attending college.
It is clear that colleges offer appropriate chances for student connection and growth as they move through the phase. The knowledge acquired throughout a college education is related to students who may need a greater lifetime income and better quality of life, claims Procon.Org (par. 2). People who lack the educational degrees are likely to face significant limitations regarding provision of jobs in any industry. College education ensures that individuals leaving high school level gain degrees that guarantees they have better access to job opportunities as opposed to the ones who have not attained college education. As such, college is essential in the course of study. Therefore, the degree gained at the college level is considered an investment, rather than a liability.

Notably, while in college, learners secure an opportunity to bond with friends and a create network which is helpful in their current studies and future endeavors. Connections that are made in school are useful when learning and may be beneficial when developing business objectives and obtaining employment opportunities. According to Daly, Mary and Bengali (2014), students completing college education together can help each other in securing employment opportunities thereby sustaining life. Carnevale, Stephen, Rose, and Cheah (275) note that college education is worth as it is the pathway to the middle class and a pre-requisite on being successful in current economic world. Moreover, individuals realize their potential and ability to help in bettering the world, hence increasing worth of college education. As such, engaging in college-level education is efficient and would assist in developing proper citizens.

Reasons against College Education

It is not mandatory to attend college to gain an education. According to Procon.Org (par 3), it is possible for persons to graduate from high school and join the university with financial capabilities and proper grades. As such, some people possess the view that college education is just a necessity, but it is not mandatory. Therefore, it becomes evident that it is not a compulsory to join college level education.

In the current setting, employers in any business opportunity demand higher degrees than the bachelors. As such, with regards to the level of income earnings, it is evident that college-level degrees do not help achieve financial stability as access to jobs is becoming increasingly difficult. Moreover, based on federal statistics, only one in five students studying in college levels get the bachelor’s degree. Ohers obtain an associate’s degree, which takes more than three years of the student’s time. As such, receiving higher degrees through college level direction makes a more extended period than direct admission to universities offering the higher degrees.

For instance, the college level education is costly, and provides the learners with limited amount of knowledge, interaction, and alumni networking as compared to the value gained in higher levels of education. Currently, the United States is bombarded with taxi drivers and bartenders who have achieved college degrees, hence indicating that there is a challenge in doing better jobs with these degrees. Michelle (58) explains that it is evident from the research that education is imperative for students to obtain stability in life. However, various scholars argue that training at the college level is relevant for its importance in gaining knowledge and developing citizens who are highly educated and can interact fully with each other. Moreover, scholars argue that college education is relevant for designing networks that may be useful in future job opportunities. As such, there is the corresponding argument concerning worth of knowledge in college level.

However, there are contrary arguments based on why college is not worthy. It is evident that there is a considerable amount of time wasted while engaging in college education as it is not mandatory to attend the same, but is recommended. Moreover, value of the corresponding is questionable since there are individuals who have attained college degrees but lack proper job opportunities following other individuals with higher qualifications. As such, there is sufficient information to dispute the worthiness of college education.

In a personal standing, college education is relevant. It is notable that the level helps one to gain more information and, since there is no limit to learning, the process is efficient and should be taken into consideration. Moreover, the networks formed in the level of knowledge are helpful not only in job opportunities but also for the learning process and projects. Similarly, college education helps educate people on lifestyles and how they can interact with other individuals in a better way thereby improving social development.

The purpose of this discussion was to provide the pros and cons of why college is worth or not. It is evident from the research that education is imperative for students to obtain stability in life. Also, there is a significant amount of time wasted while engaging in college education as it is not mandatory to attend the same, but is recommended.
