The human service sector in the whole world is today an important source of mobilizing the potential of national growth, improving quality and living standards.

So, I think that human services provide a great deal of opportunities for social change.
Contribution to increasing efficiency
Contributes to increasing the efficiency of public and, in particular, material production, primarily through raising labor productivity and creating conditions for optimizing the labor process;
Reproduction of economically active population
Ensures the reproduction of economically active population on a socially necessary scale at the expense of specific types of activities (education, retraining of personnel, medicine) affecting the intellect and physical condition of workers;
Optimization of nonworking time
Optimizes the structure of nonworking time of economically active population;
Improvement of life quality
Raises the level and quality of life, forms the structure of needs optimal for a historically concrete society and contributes to their real satisfaction;
Supporting the economically inactive population
Creates conditions for the normal life of the economically inactive population (children, disabled people, the elderly, etc.) due to specific activities affecting the structure of their free time, intellect, health, personal property;
Balance of incomes and expenditures
Contributes to the balance of incomes and expenditures of the economically inactive population;
Key factors of material growth
Forms in its structure such key factors of material growth as scientific knowledge, intangible forms of accumulation, information technologies of them;
Contribution to national security
Has a significant impact on ensuring national security of the state and society.

Thus, considering service from the point of view of its participation in the production and reproduction of social life, it is easy to see that in all spheres of the social structure and at all its levels, the institution of service to one degree or another reveals its presence and its influence.

The role of the service sector in the development of society is ambiguous, but without its participation can not be ensured the progress of society.

The service sector takes direct part in the creation of goods (production of consumer goods by individual orders, restoration of consumer properties, etc.), which increases the gross national income of the country.

The bulk of enterprises in the service sector relates to small or family businesses and exploits its benefits in the narrow-band market, with a high ability to respond quickly to the changing consumer demand for services. This is a small business, which is inseparable from the sphere of service, where the main layer of business owners is formed. Thus, the problem of creating new types of goods and services, better quality and attractive for people, is also solved, as well as there is an opportunity for innovation, which contributes to the development of entrepreneurial activity, the receipt of additional incomes by the population, an increase in the number of jobs and working population.
Recreation and entertainment
An example of the active role of services can be the operation of the recreation and entertainment. In the leading countries of the world a powerful recreational complex has been formed, covering a network of service enterprises (sports, cultural and entertainment, tourism, etc.). At the same time, in the economy, the country grew a fast-growing sector of material production, specializing in the release of goods for recreation, trade, catering and household services. This complex has created a base for mass development of active forms of rest. In these conditions, social preferences are being formed in favor of recreation of general health and sports.
Employee preparation and quality of work force
This sphere is related to the preparation of an employee for participation in the process of labor, which forms the labor force of a new quality as the main part of life. One of the important aspects of the formation of a new level of quality of work force is the work on creating programs and methods for improving the quality of working life, as well as training programs for personnel.

The service sector directly influences the economy and rational use of free human time, the time for its development as a person, a family man and a citizen. As the social division of labor increases, the ratio of working and free time, the ratio of labor and leisure activities varies.
Requirements for environmental protection
With the development of modern civilization and improving the quality of life of people, requirements for environmental protection are increasing. This is due to an increase in the volume of traditional gardening services and urban amenities, water supply, sanitation and garbage disposal. There are new types of services related to waste disposal and improvement of the environment.
Implementation of social policy
The development of the service sector is an integral part of the implementation of the state's social policy. This is due to the growth of social security and health services.

The service sector directly influences the spiritual revival of society through social and cultural services. Compared to other services, the socio-cultural industries have a pronounced external effect. Due to this, it is customary to refer to socio-cultural services to socially significant benefits, i.e. to the benefits that have special merits. The common thing that brings together education, culture and health is their particular significance for human development. The costs of social and cultural services are considered as investments in human capital. By enhancing their educational, cultural and health standards, each citizen contributes ultimately to the multiplication of the educational, cultural and health potential of the entire society.
Contribution to production and technological progress
The service sector contributes to the revival of large-scale production and the scientific and technological progress of society. The experience of the leading countries of the world shows that the production of equipment for the process of rendering services occupies the largest industrial enterprises with their highly developed scientific and technical potential, production and sales equipment. All this requires professional training for all categories of service enterprises.
