The process of socialization
The process of socialization entails passing specific beliefs, norms, behaviors, and values of given groups of people to their future generation without alterations. There are specific behaviors and way of living attributed to the two major sexes which are male and female. People are normally given an option of choosing the category of gender which they are comfortable confining with whereby the gender differences are characterized by specific norms. That means that the differences between male and female characteristics are socialized. The process of socialization begins before birth and once one is born, the process continues throughout their lifespan. During the early life of an individual, opinions, and views of what boys are required to do are different from what girls are supposed to do.

The family is initially made up of couples of different genders who later on get children. The young ones grow up from birth learning from what they observe from their parents. The norms, beliefs, and behaviors of parents greatly influence the socialization of the children. The sex of a child will determine how the parents will behave. The interaction with a boy is quite tough as compared to a girl which is tender. That is in the relation of the stereotyped social characteristics for each sex.
School
Different schools are found on specific cultural norms which are determined by the type of the surrounding community. Therefore, apart from the official curriculum, the teachers get to impact on the children cultural norms in relation to their specific sexes. Children are taught to be involved in activities that are stereotyped for either male or female.
