The Creation of Religion

Social interaction is a continuous sequence of social actions between people who tend to change their reactions and acts as a result of new ideas from their interacting partner(s). The social interaction process can be broken down into accidental, regular, repeated and regulated actions among different individuals who may be involved in useful conversations. Interaction can also represent a social exchange process that occurs between different people. This social exchange process forms a basis upon which social structure is developed. Thus, it is a significant object of social inquiry and analysis. The ability to interact with one another enables people to design rules, systems, and institutions in which they pursue to live. These interactions easily lead to the creation of larger institutions since individuals can meet and exchange ideas that may be used in the generation of new things, for instance, they can think of coming up with a school, religion or a healthcare facility. This paper discusses how people can create a religion by interacting with each other.

Religion is merely a cultural system identified by particular common practices and behaviors, ethics, sanctified places, prophecies, texts or organizations that associate humanity with spiritual aspects or supernaturalism. Interactions among different people can lead to the development of religion in the following ways. When two people meet at a particular place, they may develop an idea of coming up with religion; for instance, they can set up a church in which they will be worshipping their God. These people may decide to be praising their God on Sunday. Hence, they will be meeting on this day. When these individuals meet for the first time, they can set up a rule that every member will be coming up with a friend on every Sunday. This rule will make every member start looking for his or her friends or even strangers. When they meet with them, it is apparent that they will have conversations, which will mainly be intended to lure their friends to attend their church. These conversions can be in the form of stories about God, for instance, they can discuss the significance of God in their lives through reading Hindu scriptures, verses from the bible or Qur’an.

When they manage to come with their friends to church the next Sunday, they will be congratulated for instance, through clapping. The main reason for coming with their friends in the church was to worship God, but since these individuals have been encouraged through clapping, they will think of other ways to convince other people to attend their session on the next Sunday. For instance, this time they may think of taking their friends, especially those who are pagans to cinemas where God’s films are being shown. After watching these films, their friends may be highly encouraged, and they may quickly get involved in a conversion. The conversation may consist of questions like; “where do you go to church?’’, “who is your pastor” etcetera. Such friends may highly be encouraged to attend their church session on the next Sunday.

Furthermore, other individuals may be encouraged to attend their church sessions by just looking at one-on-one interactions made by these individuals. For instance, when these people behave appropriately and enhance the word of God through reading scriptures to their families on a daily basis, outsiders may be encouraged to attend their church sessions to learn how to impress these good behaviors and the word of God.

In conclusion, we realize that various specific social interactions can easily lead to the creation of larger institutions. For instance, having conversations about God’s word, watching church films, reading scriptures to family members can aid in increasing church members who may also wish to learn the word of God. This, in turn, may result in the creation and broadening of the religion.
