There are various training and development methods that I can use as the HR Director to improve employee morale and reduce attrition in a scenario where expert employees leave the company after only six months to a year of employment. Since the employees of the technology company are expected to work for longer hours per week, I would make them understand the vision of the organization to change their attitude towards work. The vision of the company would motivate and inspire the employees to work towards achieving the set goals and objectives. Again, I would use communication to build credibility and instill a positive culture among the employees. I can also show appreciation to the workers through compensation and benefits. In addition, I would make the employees feel valued and create work balance to lower the stress resulting from overworking. The rewards, appreciation, and creation of work balance would motivate the employees to finish doing the projects of the technology company in time.
The attrition issue caused by the turnover can be reduced through work-life balance, management style, communication and development of skills. The employer should understand and consider the health of every employee. As the HR Director, I would consider the health of the workers and give them workload that is commensurate with their capability. Changing management style and effective communication can also help me to reduce attrition. The new communication method will transform the leadership style of the organization and make the employees feel valued. New management style might also help in changing the behaviors of the employees towards work. I would also make the promotion of the employees depending on their good deeds and achievements to motivate other workers. Therefore, I would revise the working hours for the employees and make instant payment for the overtime work to improve the morale of all employees.
