Each and every person has value. Every individual has a right to self preservation, regardless of race, gender, or age. No one has the absolute right to cause pain or damage to others, whether they are people they know directly or complete strangers, despite the fact that everyone has an inherent obligation to protect their own well-being.
In medical settings, physicians are presumed to treat patients and also work to improve their general health. Families are expected to guarantee that their loved ones receive the best care possible while being treated in hospitals as other stakeholders. All these facts reveal the fact that patients are taken to hospitals to receive care and restoration of their health.
In some extreme cases of life and death, an individual impulse to keep their loved one alive is stronger than ever. Patients who have little chances of survival have to receive extra care to reduce the risks involved. They are no different from other human beings only that they are suffering from tormenting illnesses. They feel pain, and they still have lives.
Euthanasia, whichever way one may look at it, is killing even when coded 'mercy killing'. It involves deliberate taking away of life since the primary intention of inducing a patient with euthanasia is to kill. Some argue that the primary reason of euthanasia is to relieve pain, but apparently, there is the fact that the dead cannot feel pain, since they are dead. That should not lead to the reasoning that a patient with a terminal, painful ailment should be induced with euthanasia to relieve the pain or end their suffering.
Look at it this way, when one has the intention to preserve the life of another, even when they are not close, they commit to finding ways to do so even when it means just for a short moment. Using euthanasia to kill for the reason of reducing medical bills and ending their suffering is not justifiable. It only asserts to the reality that, in whatever form, killing is wrong. No person, whether family or doctor, has the right to decide on the right to life of another. Not even when the patient is willing should one have the right to take away their lives. Doing so is becoming an accomplice to the wrong action.
It is for these facts that euthanasia practice is morally wrong.
