Specific purpose: To inform the audience about how they can maintain high employee motivation levels within the workplace


Thesis: Although firms can rely on aspects such as training and development to derive a positive performance among the members of the workforce, keeping the level of employee motivation at a high is an important factor for achieving organisation success.


Introduction


1. Employee motivation has always been an important factor which determines how successful a firm becomes in the industry.


A. Through motivation, employees are provided with a wonderful drive and energy which encourage them to expend their duties in the best way possible to benefit the organisation in the long run.


B. Motivation is driven by recognition, clear expectations, goals, feedback, and an encouraging management.


2. Despite this, some members of the management still find it difficult to maintain the motivation levels of the employees in the firm.


A. Since the current business world is faced by an intense competition, it is vital that the management should keep the employees’ motivation levels at a high to survive the strong industrial rivalry.


3. Regardless of the mission and vision of the firm, employee motivation is an important consideration for the survival of a business which wants to proper in the industry.


[In today’s session, I will outline the requisite steps of consideration for any manager who wants to ensure that the employee’s motivation levels remain high at all times.]


Body


1. One of the ways of maintaining the level of employee motivation is through recognition.


A. Employee recognition can enhance the level of motivation in the firm. When the members of the workforce put in an extra effort in their work and the management fails to recognize them, it is highly likely that the employee will feel demoralized and unhappy with being a part of the team (Fiaz 144).


i. When employee recognition and motivation is implemented and offered effectively, the members of the workforce will show a high level of trust in the management. Trust is a common factor when it comes to employee satisfaction with the supervisor and management in the workplace.


2. Setting clear goals is also an important factor of consideration for any manager who wants to maintain the level of employee motivation at high levels.


A. Setting clear goals in the workplace means that the employees will always be aware of what the firm expects from its employees at all times when they are in the workplace.


i. Setting clear goals come in handy in eliminating the aspect of time wastage by allowing the workers to plan their time well on how to achieve the set goals. The presented move communicates a message that the management cares about the input of the members of the workforce and the fact that they are willing to work towards achieving them within the proper timeframe (Bertelsen 27).


ii. Ensuring that the employees know what is expected of them enhances their level of motivation in the workplace. The presented factor is achieved in that they have a clear goal of what the management expects alongside with the strategic framework of the business. Apparently, with the clear goals, the members of the workforce are motivated since they know where the fit.


3. The use of training and development is an important factor of consideration since it ensures that the members of the workforce are provided with the requisite skills needed to dispense their daily duties as expected by the firm.


A. Providing training on how to provide extra services within the firm, such as operating new machinery is an important consideration which comes in handy in boosting the level of employee motivation.


i. Through the training and development, the members of the workforce become motivated in that they are exposed to an environment where they can learn new concepts and remain highly competent within the current dynamic business environment. The presented move fosters an environment where the employees feel like they are a part of the team which supports motivation (Fiaz 148).


4. To ensure that the employees remain motivated at all times in the workplace, it is recommended that the management should provide the workers with the required freedom.


A. The presented aspect can be achieved by acknowledging that the employees have a life besides work.


i. Therefore, offering incentives such as paid leaves and constant time-off for the employees is an important consideration for motivating the staff. If the employees feel like the management cares about their personal life, they are more likely to show high levels of motivation and satisfaction by being a part of the presented team in question.


ii. Communication is also an important factor for consideration when it comes to setting the employees free. Through communication, the members of the workforce will feel like they management cares about their input before making important decisions in the workplace. Through such environments, the employees can easily communicate their needs in the workplace and allow the management to work on them in order to create an even better working environment for the employees.


5. Promoting a personal growth for the members of the workforce is also an important consideration for any firm which seeks to motivate the employees and maintain the presented factor.


A. The presented personal growth can be maintained by the management through creating opportunities where the members of the workforce can choose to further their education while still on a pay check.


i. One of the ways that the management can create an opportunity for growth and personal development for the members of the workforce is through encouraging the employees to attend seminars and workshops which are important for skills advancement and development (Bertelsen 14). Through this, the employees will have a chance to learn from the best people in the industry and understand how they managed to become successful despite the evident challenges in their career path.


[ Motivating the employees in the workplace may be a complicated process and highly demanding. However, understanding the benefits it brings to the firm at the end of the day is an important factor which guides you to understand its need in the workplace.]


Conclusion


1. Regardless of the associated costs of investing in factors of employee motivation, the management should welcome such thoughts and activities in business. Through proper management, the members of the workforce will see the need of putting in an extra effort to dispatching their duties in the organisation and working at its best interest. The outcome will be reflected in the amount of revenues generated by the firm towards the close of a financial period.
