The importance of spiritual care in nursing
Compassion, according to José (2010), might be considered a spiritual issue when the caregivers display an aspect of competence. Spiritual care is an important aspect of an individual's health in the nursing business since there is a need for resolution and recognition of disaster victims' spiritual demands. Disaster victims are treated in a hospital in a structured manner, with differences noted when the reaction is offered to an individual or an entire community. However, a spiritual issue can relate to the loss of faith to an individual or community after an occurrence of a disaster. An instance of reduced faith in individual limits the opportunity to get healed creating a worsening situation in that person’s health. The nurses are then left with the responsibility to administer the required care that will help the individual gain his faith. Similarly, comfort should be attained by the affected party when receiving therapy from the nurses. Naturally, the affected person will develop a perception that there is a change that s/he will attain after completing this therapy.
Goal of the therapies
Some of the therapies that will help the nurses achieve this goal is to instill faith, hope, and honor others. Secondly, there is a need to assist with the basic physical, emotional, and spiritual needs throughout the treatment process. In the long run, the affected person will not seek alternative means to get cured.
