According to the introduction, all children with disabilities are entitled to free public education. As a result, it is fully protected by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. Children who need therapy schools will benefit from the educational resources provided. It is true that no rehabilitation classes are available within a given district, but it is the responsibility of the region to meet the needs of the pupil. Brigham and Ahn et al., 20106)
People qualified for disabilities
People qualified for disabilities are required to be eligible with free education within the district under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, regardless of the extent of the person's condition. As such, the schools receive funds from the Education Department. It act covers the three major requirements for one with disabilities to be provided with free education (Yell & Bateman, 2017). The first states that the training should be regular and should come with aids and services according to the state of the child. Secondly, these students with disabilities should be mixed with normal ones. That is regarding academic and other services that are not academic, for example, recreational activities, membership in various clubs, and physical education.Furthermore, Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) contains all the rights required for children with disabilities in the United States of America. According to this body, no parent is supposed to pay any cost except the membership, a child with a disability is supposed to receive the education that is appropriate and should be in a way that it meets specific needs of the child. Also, it is essential to give them maximum attention whatever their nature might be. Lastly, if a child has the right age to be in school, the disabled child should be provided with the eligible education that will help in preparation for future employment and on how to be independent. However, Michael's case requires that he be taken to a school that is outside the county because there is no therapeutic institution in his district. It comes after several attempts of problem-solving by his parents and teachers fail and evaluation that diagnoses him with the emotional disability. He requires over $5,000 annually, but his school has recommended him $3,000. Is this fair to his parents? In conclusion, it is evident that the administrator is not taking up his responsibilities in a correct way. Hence, FAPE has the responsibility to act and come to the rescue of Michael. He has the right to receive the proper education, from an institution that best suits his needs. By this, all children with disabilities are entitled to receive all these benefits so that they can also fit in the current world with other ordinary people.References
