The on-site health clinics provide health services to the employees, especially in responding to work-related injuries. On-site health clinics ensure a healthy workforce for the company. Even during work-related injuries or general sickness, employees are sure of getting professional attention which hastens their healing process. A well-coordinated on-site health clinic reduces the down-time and duration of sick leaves which affect the company’s efficiency. Therefore, on-site health clinics contribute to better productivity and efficiency in operations of the company.
Providing on-site health clinics reduces employee turnover. Companies seek to maintain their experienced workforce for continued operations. However, retaining such a quality workforce may prove a challenge. Due to this challenge, companies are providing incentives for use of the on-site health clinics. On-site health clinics like Intermountain Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provide free professional health and counselling services to the employees and their immediate families (Health and Wellness Benefits 6). Companies alluded providing little or no co-payments for the health care at these on-site clinics. Through this, employees are able to get affordable healthcare. Employees will feel more appreciated for the shared costs and will reduce rate of employee turnover. Retaining the employee, while also improving the productivity, provides a big benefit for the employers in the long run.
Companies should implement the on-site health clinics. On-site health clinics offer load of benefits like improving the employee productivity and reducing the employee turnover. On-site health clinics ensure a healthy workforce for the company. Also, the on-site health clinics are a huge benefit for the employees and their immediate families. Employers offer co-payments which boost their image among the employees, thereby reducing employee turnover. Clearly, on-site health clinics are an essence for the employers in the current market.
