These two authors identify the importance of reducing the risk of harmful effects associated with opioid analgesics and provide recommendations for research on the development of substance abuse. The most preferred treatment advocated for is occupational therapy. The three writers have spent almost their entire lives doing drug and substance abuse studies. Their main focus was the United States where there is prevalence of narcotics especially, among youth.
