The Management Challenges

When I think about my own firm and its issues, I agree with Lussier (2015) that it is incomplete without the proper employees. Employees are primarily responsible for carrying out any organization's strategic initiatives. As a result, the organization must guarantee that the correct personnel are in place to secure the company's success. Furthermore, personnel must be driven to perform to the best of their abilities. According to David MacClelland's Human Motivation Theory, management must understand the motivating drivers of team members and apply them appropriately to motivate them to work harder (Amin & Claudia, 2016). This will not only attract the right staff but also retain them and ensure they buy into the dream of the organization. The problem of ineffective workers in my company, therefore, has its roots from wrong staff.


All employees have bad and good days at the workplace that have a direct impact on their performance. But it is important for the human resources department to ensure that only people with relevant skills and knowledge are given a chance to work in the company to control the issue of poor performance. After recruitment, training of the newly employed workers should start soonest possible as guided by the organizational culture. Other factors that would enable a company to achieve the best from employees include treating them with respect, helping them to align their work goals with personal goals. The two can be accomplished through communication and cooperation, provision of the conducive working environment, and timely feedback (Amin & Claudia, 2016). Wrong staff comes as a result of lack of coordination by the various department during the hiring of workers to determine the gap which should be filled. Also, the employees should be supported by the management to develop personally and professionally so as to fit in their respective roles (Lussier, 2015). Without the right staff, a business has no future.
