All of the pretest factors were the reliable variables. Self-reported drug use, student attitudes toward drugs, future drug use intentions, perceived benefits and costs of drug use, media influence on drug use observed, peer attitudes toward drug use and substance abuse, assertiveness, and learner self-esteem were among the topics covered.
The students' post-program self-esteem, drug expertise, the resulting attitude toward drugs, alcohol, and substance abuse, the peer resistance, and other post-treatment outcome variables were all included.

Measures
All the fifth-grade students received a pretest before the program beginning by using a questionnaire, which was designed to measure all the depended variables. Sample
The sample size was made of 60 fifth grade students who were grouped, two equal groups. The categories were made of 30 students each who were placed in different classrooms. The first type was the controlled which did not receive the training of the DARE program but received Alcohol and Drug abuse education, and the other was the DARE group which was enrolled in the program. The students were monitored for four years while trying to study the long-term effects of DARE program on drug and alcohol use.
