Moral Leadership


Moral leadership is defined as a type of leadership in which an individual exhibits or demonstrates ethical behaviors that are recognized and appropriate in all aspects of life. According to research, moral leadership is made up of personal attributes such as leading by example and allowing your deeds to speak louder than your words. Second, through practicing ethical principles and issues, and finally, by communicating about the relevance of ethics. Successful ethical leaders have excellent communication skills in expressing themselves in public, in front of an audience, and even during debates and interviews by opening the floor for discussion and building camaraderie for quality relationships based on trust, honesty, love, openness, and integrity. Therefore, we wanted to know the level of ethics in our leadership so as to know our well-being as leaders, the energy brought to the team and provision to the overall administration scheme globally. We then decided to conduct an ethical leadership assessment to provide us with a picture of how ethics is important to our personal leadership style.

What was the result of the assessment? Do you agree or disagree with your results? Answer. After conducting the assessment test, my overall performance was 4.1 which was above 3.8 that signified a high form of ethical leadership. I cannot take advantage of the assessment results to boast off. I agree with the results because I am fond of practicing ethics in my leadership, showing high standards of liberal quality leader that leads by an example. I have always taken time to teach the peers about ethics particularly when they are faced with ethical issues.


How do your assessment align with others in your demographic group who have taken the assessment?


Answer. Creating a comparison with the course, my good leadership skills are high, but not at the highest level as 100% of the course possess efficient use of ethical leadership skills. Moreover, there is equal proportion in the global results. Globally only 0.5% of leaders exhibiting little moral leadership qualities, which then translates that above 90% of leaders globally practice ethics in their personal leadership styles.


As you reflect on facets of the results or the commentary provided in the results, what is most meaningful and important to you? Which is less significant? Explain your decision. Answer. The most meaningful commentary in the results was the advice I was given to practice the ethical leadership skills I have at higher standards to improve my standards, and also to teach my peers on topics related to ethics, especially in areas where they face significant challenges with ethical issues. This means I am going to practice some things which are of great important that have been ignoring. Also creating projects which will create awareness to my peers on ethics-related topics, especially in areas where they are facing ethical challenges.


The less meaningful commentary was the suggestion that, online lessons and tutorials for improving moral leadership. I have to go through the internet to learn the ethical values that are meant in developing the ethics in leadership. This only adds more challenges to those who are not advanced with the know-how of internet based programs thus many will not be able to benefit from the suggestion.


How will I use this information to further my professional development?


Answer. The result has exalted me to realize that there are some leadership qualities hidden deep inside of me that, I should explore and use in the personal leadership style of the day to day life situation. Therefore, it gives me the challenge to realize various ways of improving the qualities to be competent in the global ethical leader. Moving forward, I'm confident that I am going to be the example, by practicing various use of ethical behaviors to the colleagues. I am also going to champion my significance of Ethics by teaching different peers on ethical issues.


Summary of Ethical Leadership Assessment


Answer. It was fascinating the course chose on this topic, as it is one of my best virtues and values of life. Having great qualities of maintaining a positive working atmosphere has been one of my big responsibilities has this may help improving job productivity. Also having leadership skills of leading by an example shows great ethical leadership qualities. Having ethics in leadership is also important in the health of the organization, where, when there is respect for the society, one can value other's opinions, this may help to make a productive working area.


Therefore this assessment makes me realize this values within me. Thus I should further them by practicing them more and teaching my peers on ethics-related topics, especially in the areas they are facing difficulties. This exercises will help me improve my career.
