There are unhappy people in the world who cannot wake up until they have a cup of coffee. I am one of these individuals. I can't even wash my face properly before I drink my coffee. So, in a stupor, I wander towards my coffee machine. I learned to keep an eye on my dreams while the beans were being ground. The crucial thing now is to submerge a cup in a stream of hot brown liquid. My eyes begin to open as I drink it. The warmth spreads throughout my body. The dreams fade away and I forget about them. Maybe I will recall some episodes from it later in the day. Everything around me begins saturating with colors. I am ready for some great deeds today. Everything is possible. There is definitely a parallel universe where coffee does not exist. I do not want to live in such universe. People there probably sleep all day long. How can a living person depend so much on a beverage? Thank god coffee is not considered a drug in our society. At least for now. I would surely be forced to jump out of my skin to get me a dose. I would be in a constant state of paranoia. There would be a risk for me to jump on something more dangerous, like chocolate. I would only be friends with same addicts like myself. We would gather sometimes to brew some really strong stuff and then pour it in our stained cups. I look inside my cup. Coffee is finished; I can now go wash my face.
