The Chinese Immigration to the United States
The Chinese started to migrate from their home country to United States of America, and as per immigration research, more than 150,000 Chinese have received American residency visas in the year 2011. As per study, the Chinese who has worth up to $16 million is migrated from China to U.S. it’s also declared in the research that 47% Chinese are considering emigrating from their home country. There are many reasons which have caused this immigration. The education, infrastructure, political reforms and many other factors are considered by these Chinese who have decided to immigrate. The difference in these factors in China and United States is provoking many Chinese citizens to get nationality of United States. The Chinese immigration started in many centuries ago and continued in present times.
Reasons for Immigration: Education and Political Reforms
In the immigration study, it has become evident that more than 80% immigrants have moved to America with the intention to get access to better education for their children. The Chinese also had academic skills and strengths and United States of America is suffering from the public education crisis. Despite this fact, the Chinese are shifting to United States to the more significant extent. The economic unit of intelligence has disclosed that the united states are at the 17th rank concerning test score of education and it is behind many Asian countries as well as South Korea and Hong Kong. There are many rules and regulation in the Chinese schools which hurdles many Chinese during their education. For example, the Chinese migrants who belong to other provinces find difficulty in getting the education in Shanghai. This banning of getting the education is permitted by the government of the state. These barriers became a reason for Chinese immigrants to move to United States. The government of china supports such unethical and biased decisions which discriminate the public to the more significant extent. (Carlson)
Historical Chinese Immigration to the United States
The Chinese population also migrated to United States in the history. In the middle of 19th century, the male citizen started to move to United States with the intention to work there for lower level jobs. They arrived on the west coast of united states for the sake of mining, agriculture as well as to get the job of the lesser skilled laborer. However, this immigration was stopped as the government of United States has banned us citizenship for Chinese. Later, in the middle of 1960, there are many programs which were changed in United States, and again the Chinese immigration to United States started. There were many programs which were initiated for the skilled as well as unskilled laborer which has doubled the number of Chinese immigrants in United States. (Strom).
Economic Opportunities and Political Freedom
There is one more reason which has increased the number of Chinese immigrants in United States. The china is a country which has the high population and due to the high number of people the employment opportunities are decreasing with the passage of time. The availability of wages for Chinese in the country is becoming difficult and to manage their livelihood; they are moving to United States. In United States, there are high opportunities available for a workforce and these Chinese are aware of this advantage. The depressed wages in the china became a significant reason behind this immigration of mass of chines.
There is one more reason which is pursuing the Chinese population to migrate. The political reforms in the United States are better than the reforms of the Chinese government. The freedom which is enjoyed by United States is not available in the china due to which the Chinese are moving to United States to enjoy the freedom and liberty which is given to residents. The Chinese population suffers from the variety of problems such as religious freedom which raises many issues for them. In the United States, people are free to adopt any religion as well as they are living their lives freely as per their preferences (Ling).
Better Environment and Infrastructure
Other than these the environmental condition of United States is far better than China which is attracting many Chinese to move to the United States. The higher level of environmental pollution and the poor infrastructure of China also served as the primary reason for Chinese immigration. In the United States of America, the structure of the country is well developed, and there is the clean environment. In contrast to United States, the china air is well polluted, and, in their routine, they must wear masks to save themselves from the different respiratory diseases. To enjoy the better infrastructure and clean environment, Chinese are struggling hard to migrate, and their best target for immigration is United States. (Hirschman.)
Conclusion
In conclusion, it can be declared that from the history to present, the Chinese are moving to United States due to plenty of reason which is increasing the number of migrants in United States. These reasons include political reforms, depressed wages, and education. Infrastructure, freedom, and liberty as well as the clean environment. The immigration is continued in present times as these Chinese are getting citizenship of United States for their better future. It can be predicted that in future more Chinese will migrate to United States and their number will increase with the passage of time.
