The following learning and Development Plan on performance monitoring plan was designed for Heather. She is the HR and WHS Manager of the National Camper Trailer. Heather has been with the company for six months and has no prior experience in monitoring performance. Some of the possible gaps identified from the L " D plan will include Heather’s inability to view the bigger picture of how the human resource department works with the management teams to ensure the overall functioning of the company. Since each of the department has specific goals and objectives that align with the overall organisational goals, Heather has a challenge understanding the objectives of all the departments and expected outcomes.


The learning and development plan for Heather will learn for a period of about 2 weeks. This will allow adequate time for her to familiarize with different aspects of the company and other key HR resources. A performance evaluation will be conducted on Heather when giving her feedback on how she faired in training. First, she will be provided with constructive feedback to motivate and encourage further learning. The contractors will be transparent with her regarding the performance expectations and evaluations and address any arising needs immediately. Necessary goals will be set on the learning process together with her trainers to monitor performance based on how she is fairing with the training. The contracted providers will include some of the seasoned HR staff members, the senior managers, and the line managers.

Line managers should also place more emphasis on strategy and vision in performance measures and monitoring. This implies putting into place measurement systems that monitor the skills as well as performance levers that correspond with the overall goals of National Camper Trailer.
