Internally motivating employees in a business

Performance of the organization revolves with its employees. Effective employees are those who are joyful. If they want to work hard and be really productive, they need motivation. Since it benefits both the organization and the employees, motivation is essential to a business' success. In this essay, I outline five strategies for inspiring staff members at a business.
First, I'll encourage the team members with opportunities for promotion. When employees are aware that they are working towards a specific objective, they become extremely motivated (Robescu & Iancu, 2016). They have no motivation to perform better and perceive no chance for growth when there are no prospects for advancement. I will offer them training to equip them with skills they require to rise in their careers. In addition to that, I will educate the junior employees to provide them with more opportunities since it will build the company's reputation as a good employer.

Secondly, I will offer the employees incentives that, even when they are not expensive, act as motivation boosters. Employees feel motivated and appreciated when they receive various bonuses such as movie tickets, gift cards, and shopping vouchers. Monetary rewards are also eesential. When giving money incentives, it is important for the employees to know the basis on which they are issued and how the specific amounts are calculated (Nohria, Groysberg, & Lee, 2008).

Thirdly, I will empower the employees to participate in the organization. I will allow the employees to express their ideas and raise objections. To achieve that, I will make sure that they communicate their thoughts concerning how they can improve their performance. Most of the time, employees have good ideas on how they can become more efficient in their duties; however, they fail to share them until they are specifically asked to do so (Robescu & Iancu, 2016). By taking the pieces of advice that they give during the discussions, they will be motivated and feel empowered. For instance, they will be encourage to contribute more when they have the authority to serve the clients up to some point without seeking approval for it.

Fourthly, I will motivate the employees by serving as an example to follow. It would be unreasonable to expect the employees to be industrious and act the way I want them when I do not set the example. In workplaces, good moods tend to be infectious (Robescu & Iancu, 2016). For instance, when I show enthusiasm about the organization’s objectives, then the employees will engage and strive so that we achieve the goals together.

Finally, I will improve communication to motivate the employees. Most of the time, the essence of subordinate communication is ignored. Employees often lack the motivation to achieve the company’s goals when they do not communicate with their seniors face-to-face (Nohria, Groysberg, & Lee, 2008). Frequent direct communication motivates employees since through this process they realize that they are valued in the company. Moreover, it is the most appropriate way to show my gratitude for the employees’ efforts towards meeting the company’s purposes.

Therefore, to enhance productivity, employees should be motivated. Motivation is beneficial to both the employees and the company. It is also critical in retaining the best employees at the company. Thus, by providing incentives, empowering, proposing advancement opportunities and ensuring effective leadership, the worker’s motivation will be enhanced, and the overall business performance will increase.
