            Outsourcing services - Infosys company applies subcontracting in its consultation. It involves a global delivery model (GDM) in its existing software development activities where the client defines the project and requirement specifications and then contacts the company with specific programming requests. Infosys has offshore subsidiaries and its one of the top performers in the off-shore markets.


             IBU divisions form the company with each IBU performing roles in a particular different sector. The company is also customer focused. It aims at maintaining customers over on a long-term basis.


            Infosys has a high degree of decentralization where IBU managers manage most decisions. The degree of both formalization and complexity is low in Infosys.


            The company also employs a complete centralization within its operations as well as the organization. It also exercises decentralization as there are small independent organic teams that do not strictly follow its rules and codes. Therefore, the structure of Infosys is contingency structure.

            Infosys specializes in services such as designing and delivery of computers systems, providing design specifications, computer programming as well as developing sophisticated software solutions such as enterprise research planning, customer relations management and developing sales force automation.


            Infosys career hierarchy starts with the Analyst at the lowest level followed by Consultant, Senior Consultant, Principal, Senior Principal, Associate Partner and the Partner at the top level of the Infosys’ career ladder.


Infosys culture and structure aligns with its strategy


            The organizational strategy of Infosys is that of a client-focused approach to achieve corporate growth. It focuses on establishing a limited number of large multi-national corporations that command premium margins. It aims at satisfying existing customers and attracting new customers through quality products rather than cost differentiation. Another aim of the company’s strategy is to increase business from existing and new customers and clients. The company strategy also aims at helping the company to expand geographically with activities in various parts of the world. Outsourcing has helped it develop. The company also focuses on enhancing and improving solution sets for multiple problems that might be encountered in its operations.


            Moreover, the company strategy aims at providing new services to its clients. The plan of offering new facilities has been implemented through the introduction of new services such as consultancy, business management processes, computer systems integration services as well as services such as management of infrastructures for its clients.


            Another strategy of the Infosys is that of developing in-depth industry knowledge which has been actualized through the adoption of a structure that promotes the enhancement of employee knowledge and skills via the programs provided by the company’s education and research unit.
