Imagination and Politics in the Movie 'Trolls'
Imagination is the capacity to generate concepts, feelings, and visual representations in the mind independently of the direct input of the senses. There are three direct senses: touch, sight, and hearing. The ability to apply information to solve problems creatively is crucial to human progress. It's also critical to recognize that imagination is essential for fusing living experiences with the learning process. On the other hand, politics is the process of making decisions and implementing those judgments across a large number of individuals. Achieving communal governance is another name for politics. This particular paper will argue that imagination is a fundamental factor in the movie referred to as 'Trolls' and will also analyze the political implications of that imagination.
Imagination and Politics in the Movie 'Trolls'
In the movie referred to as Trolls, the is a high level of imagination, in that, there are two distinct communities one of the Trolls and the other of the Bergen's all of which have assumed human characteristics, for example, they can talk, touch, feel, compose music, and even sing and perform it. Within this imagination, the aspect of politics is well elaborated as each of these 2 distinct societies has a king. The king of the Bergen's leaves his son the crown and the king of the Trolls leaves his crown to his daughter. Within each of the above-mentioned political organizations there exists conflict, within the Bergen's, the minister of happiness is willing to go through all odds to make sure that the old doctrine of having to eat trolls so that one can feel happy continues as she believes one who provides happiness to the majority is able to control them. Among the trolls, Creek deliberately sacrificed the entire Troll community so that his life could be spared and this outside imagination qualifies as treason in real life.
Main Theme: True Happiness and the Role of Imagination
The movie's main theme is true happiness and it perfectly makes use of imagination to bring it out. The Bergen's constantly imagine what it feels to be happy and conceive among themselves that true happiness can only be felt after one has eaten a Troll, however, the Trolls believe that true happiness lies within and one only needs a little help to find it and this can be seen through the effort the Trolls put to make sure that the prince of the Bergen's and Bridget feel happy by being together and not necessarily by having to eat a Troll. Imagination has been widely used in this movie and it has helped clearly bring out the theme of true happiness, as well as, a whole lot of themes, for example, courage, love, trust, and joy.
