For fifteen years, it has been a tradition at the Hillside International to offer snacks to employees.
The staff attests to the importance of this arrangement. For two years now, the company has been providing coffee and cookies for the workers’ refreshment. However, the company has decided to offer the staff a healthier alternative for the coffee and cookies.
Effective next month, the kitchenettes will have shelves and baskets full of healthy meals.
Starting from the first day of the month, workers will have fresh fruits, whole grain snacks, and spring water for their makeshift meals. The alternative seeks to replace the previous provisions that were high-fat meals. Given that most employees at the Hillside International spend most of their time seated at the workstations, high-fat foods put them at high risk of developing health-related conditions and obesity. Based on this issue, the Health and Safety Committee voted in a motion to shift to a healthier alternative.
The Occupational Health and Safety Committee is aware of the attachment of most staff members to the regular coffee and cookies.
The committee appreciates that the program has been a critical factor in enhancing the productivity of the workers. However, the company through this committee is willing to spend more to offer the staff a healthy alternative. Therefore, the employees are requested to acknowledge the changes from next month.
Kind regards,
The head of the Occupational Health and Safety Committee
Hillside International
