The Challenges in Dissertation Writing
The dissertation writing process is delicate and demands careful consideration to make sure the case made is clear and pertinent. The difficulties I might run into while getting ready the prospectors for my dissertation could be related to time and health problems I have from an injury. Due to the mishap, I have taken a lot of time off from working on my dissertation, which has slowed down the process. Being less than 100% makes my job difficult because I need to be at the top of my game both mentally and physically to do my job and what is expected of me. Challenges that I face right now may be a significant factor affecting the time I have to my dissertation face as my health slows me down time keeps on moving. I have a lot of questions that need answers but it seems locating the right person to answer is an issue. Some questions I would like to know Involves why some children become offenders is it a choice they make or is it circumstantial. I also want to know what makes other youths choose the right path as opposed to others. I may have a couple of semesters before the final dissertation phase, but I feel like the accident took me back so many steps and the time may not be as much as I think. It would take quite some time for me to catch up on all that I was working on and the pace I had before, and it will be a significant and major derail. The major hurdle that I anticipate will be in getting my board together, as to find an active functioning board will give significant ground for my presentation.
The Importance of a Stable Committee
The most useful ideas and support will be after I have been able to form a stable committee as it will assist in making the whole process smoother. A panel comes as a helping hand, with ideas that always prove to be much needed, and the exchange of intellect and ways of thinking plays a big part in making sure the final decision on what to write is comprehensive to the case. I will remain optimistic in my pursuit despite all the challenges that I face so as to ensure that I make a contribution that is worthwhile in my field of study.
The Hurdle of the Institutional Review Boards (IRB)
Another Hurdle I anticipate is the process of the IRB; The institution review boards have been set in place to buy the federal government to fight for the welfare and rights of people who at times can be called subjects involved in research (Office of Human Research Protection, 2016). The IBR play a pivotal role in ensuring the there is no breach of professionalism or agreement to the people involved in the research as the subjects. Working with juveniles is a challenge as they require additional protection as children. When it comes to working with the kids, there is always the need to ensure that they will remain protected and that comes with a process from the institution review boards which may take some time (Office of Human Research Protection, 2016). All the benefits and risks that may potentially come as a result of the research to the children must be under consideration by the Institution board review (Office of Human Research Protection, 2016). The justification for including the children and their circumstances such as their age and ability to understand their participation in the research and what it means.
