continuous increase in the use of mobile communication networks

The Use of Mobile Communication Networks

The use of mobile communication networks has steadily increased throughout the years. As a result, the value of these networks has expanded in terms of complexity, required capacity, and the variety of the many network kinds. This tendency is always supported by noteworthy technological developments, and there is no question that it will continue to increase. By 2020, Europe will have to approve a new generation that combines wireless and wired communication networks. Through continuous effort as well as determination and persistence, the telecom operators are in the process of implementing a digital overhaul transformation in a bid to better the digital world. The IMT has gone out of their way and is significantly focused on the 5G. it may be challenging to specifically point out the features of the 5G network; however, it is estimated that the 5G network should have about 1000 times mobile ate volume per area,10-100 times higher rate of typical data and numerous connected devices as well as 10 times longer life for the battery and a reduced End to end latency.

The Coordinated Architecture of the 5G Network

As a matter of fact, the 5G networks provide the individuals and enterprises an end to end coordinated architecture that features agile, intellect as well automatic operation in all the phases., the users get to enjoy an on demand, all online, social as well as real time architecture. The 5G network will be an all cloud system. The all cloud strategy encompasses, adopting cloud of networks, services as well as operating systems which is a significant aspect and prerequisite for the long awaited digital transformation.

Smaller Cells and Higher Spectral Efficiency

The 5G Network is also expected to encompass smaller cells. With the upsurge in the demand for quite higher data rates in the world today, one of the most efficient ways of dealing with it is reducing the size of the cell. What normally follows with the reduction of a size cell is a higher spectral efficiency in general. This is normally through the higher frequency reuse that comes along with it in general. It ensures that power lost through propagation is much lower than it ought to be. This seems that the coverage is improved by ensuring that there are smaller devices indoors. The smaller devices through changes can be able to be deployed anywhere with internet connectivity all around the world today.

Integration of Multiple Radio Access Technologies

The 5G network allows in many cases the multiple radio access technologies. It is believed that 5G will be a mixture of all the different radio access technologies that are available. This will encompass aspects such as wireless local area network that ought to be brought in the future. This technology can offer seamless handovers, either way, that is to or even from the device to device communications and the infrastructure itself included. The technology can also ensure that it gives higher throughput to its users. However, it is likely that in places where there is a higher concentration of output terminals it may result in poor throughput to the users who are using the technology at the time.

Device to Device Communication

The other marvelous idea that comes along with the 5G is the ability to allow a device to device communication. The 4G cellular communications do not have a provision that allows devices to directly communicate with each other at a time. The base station and the gateway are the places where the communications have to be normally routed to hence no device to device communication at all in the long run. This is normally very inefficient as it does not really capture the ideas such as even when devices are so close to each other. This is some of the great things that the 5G promises to come along with as it will almost make easy the communication between devices to devices efficiently and almost properly well in the long run.

Reliability and Low Latency

The 5G also brings it the ability to be available and highly reliable at all times. This is as a result of software defined networking and network functions which are set to play a very vital role in the migration from 4G to 5G. Its ability in handling latency situations is the main reason behind its reliability and its efficiency in general. Latency is when a device tends to be slow or the device tends to be slower in performing its normal functions. Therefore it assures its users that are connected to it the ability to perform fast enough and the ability to be relied on at all times.

Increase in System Capacity

The 5G also comes along with the idea of increasing a large system capacity. Over the years the traffic services in cellular communication have been always been increasing. The 5G, therefore, tends to make the cost a little bit lower in terms of bit rate. It, therefore, follows that it will tend to reduce the energy consumption levels on every bit that is delivered in general. It should then follow that it will support very many devices that are available in the market today or in the world today.

Challenges and Loopholes

There still, however, exists a number of existing gaps here and there that need to be worked on properly well. one of them is the ability of inter-cell interference all around the world. This is a problem especially with the deployment of the small cells that cannot be able to properly locate the places they are at. The other gap is the distributed interference coordination in the deployment of access points where in most cases there is no coordination at all. The last one would be the inaccessibility in device storage and the link setup in general.

Orchestrating NFV and SDN

In general terms, it is necessary to orchestrate the NFV along with the Software Defined Networking (SDN) as they are very fundamental with all the successes that come along with 5G that I have mentioned above. For instance, the SDN is usually known as the component that is essential in order to make sure that there is fast service provisioning. Together, these elements ensure that there is low latency, fast connections, and infrastructure that can adapt to network slicing.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the research helps one know what the 5G network entails in general. It tends to answer many aspects such as the benefits, the loopholes that exist in the 5G and also all that entails around the 5G system in general. Therefore my research question for this thesis would be, of what benefit would be the 5G to its users all around the world? The necessary work carried out during the session to answer the question include, analyzing the 5G, knowing its benefits and achievability and also knowing some of its disadvantages or some of its loopholes that exist or are guaranteed to exist.
