Travel costs: While distributing posters and questionnaires the travel cost for the individuals involved in the program is estimated to be $200
Printing and copying: The cost of printing and duplicating posters and questionnaires is estimated to be $100
Supplies:
Food will be supplied to all the participants throughout the weeks (10*$50=$500)
Self-defense teachers: The seven self-defense teachers will be paid for the three weeks they will be teaching the self-defense lessons. (7*3*$40=$840)
Drug rehabilitation trainers: Two drug rehabilitation trainers will be paid for the two weeks they teach about drug abuse. (2*2*$40=$160)
Communication director: The communication director who is expected to be present at the program for six weeks will also be paid. (6*$50=$300)
Student representatives: There will be twenty student representatives who will have the responsibility of helping the officers. (20*10*$5=$1000)
Conclusion
In college towns the practice of binge drinking in very rampart. The high occurrence of intoxicated individuals results into high numbers of crimes being committed in these areas. One of the ways of reducing the problem of binge drinking is seeking support from professionals. [1] This can be achieved by organizing certain activities involving students being overseen by professionals such as drug rehabilitation trainers and a communication personnel.
Binge drinking is associated with several crimes such as robbery, sexual assault and aggravated assault. [2] Due to the poor judgement associated with binge drinking, the binge drinkers most of the time end up being victims the crimes. In addition to providing information on how to stop binge drinking, providing self defense lessons to students would help reduce the number of crimes. Self defense lessons can help students especially those who walk alone at night. [3] Despite the end of the ten weeks program where students learn about drug abuse and how to reduce the rate of crimes, lectures concerning the issues should be conducted on regular basis. This would help those who did not participate in the previous program to do so.
