Anti-Immigrant Extremists
Anti-immigrant extremists are those who oppose the movement of people into the country. The extremists work on their leadership structure and strive to decrease the number of immigrants entering the United States for various reasons. One of the organizations opposed to Mexicans entering the United States is the American Border Patrol. Glenn Spencer, the group's head, describes the Mexicans as a cultural cancer with plans to take over the country's government. The group aims to keep Mexicans out of the state in order to defend the country from cultural drain. The team associates the Mexicans with negative behavior concerning drug use and increase in crime, which is the fundamental ideology of the group and foundation of the resistance.
Prejudice and Resistance
The American Border Patrol associates the Mexicans with immoral actions such as crime and the consumption of drugs. The prejudice is the basis of the resistance towards the immigrants. In the ideologies of the group, the members have a responsibility to protect the country from the invasion of the Mexicans who pose a threat to the population as well as the future generations. The group sensitizes the people into joining the fight against the entry of the Mexicans into the country. One the strategies used by the team is incitement of the population to draw further support from the community (Hernandez, 2010, p. 89). The group opposes the immigration policies in the country from the claim that the increasing population of the Mexicans is a threat to the safety of the community concerning drug usage and an increase of crime in the country.
Political Situation and Growing Extremism
The political situation in the country is giving the group a good chance to grow. Many people are not confident in the leadership of the president. The uncertainty offers the group a better opportunity to grow. For example, the team owns a website, which they use to incite the public. If the viewership of the site increases, the group will be inciting the people against the minority group of the Mexicans. More so, the group uses the website in planning violent activities against the Mexicans at the border during their entry into the country. The freedom of communication offered by the political situation in the country gives the team an opportunity to wage war against the Mexicans in their extremist activities. Most of the affected Mexicans are in the country legally as defined by the constitution (Straussner, 2003, p. 111).
Racist Extremism
The American Border Patrol is a racist group that is against the entry of the Mexicans into the country. The extremist group performs violent acts against the Mexicans and incites the population in rejecting the entry of the immigrants into the country. The primary aim of the incitement is to intimidate the immigrants from getting into the country and rallying up support from the population through the incitement. The extremist group goes against the immigration policies in the country, which allow the immigrants into the country as well as their immigration papers are valid. Due to the political status of the country, which appears tense due to the new leadership, the groups enjoy an environment where it is able to use the communication channels such as the website to rally more support from the people in waging war against the group without governmental interference. The primary claim is that Mexicans increase the rate of crime in the country as well as raise the levels of drugs consumption in the country.
