Multiculturalism
Multiculturalism is a situation where all different cultures or racial groups in society receive and enjoy equal rights and opportunities without any forms of discrimination or disrespect. Ordinarily, multiculturalism comprising of various aspects of religion, cultural and cultural groups manifest itself in the thinking, customary behaviors, values and cultural presumptions. The existence of multiculturalism allows the diverse communities to prosper. For example, the recognition that all the cultures like the whites, African-Americans, and the Latino permitted the American society to undergo a revolution and explored their history. Multicultural compositions address the challenges of minorities groups to ensure every member has equal rights to the services (IFLA, 2016).
Multicultural Organization
A multicultural organization is a corporation with a workforce comprising persons from varied backgrounds, culture, races, ethnicities, and experiences. Multicultural firms search and embrace all variations and establish systems and practices that foster the inclusion of members of all groups (Career Research, 2017). Also, there is equal justice and equal participation at both individual and group level. The organization fights any forms of differences and creates an environment that presents opportunities for improvements to enhance organizations’ outcomes like profitability, innovation, creativity, organizational growth as well as adaptation to change.
Workforce Diversity in Global Corporations
With the growing globalization, numerous international corporations adopt workforce diversity to maintain their operations both in home counties and other host nations. For example, Coca-cola employs workers from all walks of life across the world. They rank one of the leading companies with a diverse workforce recording 43% of the total workforce in the US (Staff, 2016). They employ whites, blacks, Hispanics, Christian, Muslims from all over the world. The company has a mission of diversity that aims to mirror the diverse marketplace and incorporate the ideas in their leadership to embrace inclusion, fairness in all aspects of the business including workplace, supplier, and community to earn the company the social license to operate.
