The mission and vision of Walden University
The mission of Walden University is to advance society via higher education. Since graduates are judged on how they apply their knowledge to address challenges facing society, the university sees a new learning community in the 21st century. The goal is to prepare students to think critically and apply management information for their own advantage or the benefit of society at large (Baltes, Hoffman-Kipp,& Lynn, 2012).
Additionally, it provides community members with job options so they can transform their life as scholar-practitioners and, as a result, positively impact society. As a clinical mental health student, I study to be a future mental health counselor with the aim of working with the society to make social changes. After graduating, I aim at working with organizations and the society at their roots to get all those who have mental problems. That will help get more into the dark corners of the society to guide and counsel them as a therapy for their mental illness. By doing that I will make positive changes in the society which complements with Walden's mission and vision. The university can help me attain my career goals because of what it aims at that is producing graduates who will be agents of making positive social changes in the society and are reflective practitioners.
Adjustments to fulfill Walden's mission and vision
Through the understanding of Walden's mission and vision on social change, I can make adjustments so that I can fulfill the aims of Walden. My adjustments will enable me to improve and build my career through making positive social changes. Through walking to the people and asking them questions, will enable me to incorporate to the areas that relate to counseling of mentally ill persons and after counseling people will be okay which is a great social change to society.
