The Shining

The Shining is a 1980 psychological horror film directed and produced by Stanley Kubrick. It was co-written by Diane Johnson and based on the Stephen King novel of the same name. It stars Jack Nicholson, Shelley Duvall, Danny Lloyd, and Jack Nicholson. It is considered one of the most eerie films of all time.

Danny Torrance

Danny Torrance is a fictional character from Stephen King's 1977 novel The Shining. He has psychic powers and is the son of Wendy and Jack Torrance. He is a teenager with a troubled past. In this novel, Danny has to overcome his demons and save his parents.

Jack, the Father of Danny

Jack, the father of Danny, has his own issues of abuse and neglect. Jack's father beat him regularly. Jack has also injured Danny twice, breaking his arm and dropping the baby. He also slaps him for calling the Overlook. As Danny's life begins to unravel, he cries out for help.

Danny is psychic and is able to read other people's minds. He also has the ability to communicate with an ethereal figure. Hallorann has similar powers and calls it "the shining."

Jack Nicholson

Jack Nicholson played the character of John Torrance in the 1980 film adaptation of Stephen King's The Shining. The character was also portrayed by Steven Weber in the 1997 miniseries. More recently, Henry Thomas portrayed the character in the 2019 film adaptation of Doctor Sleep.

The film was a big success and arguably one of the greatest horror movies of all time, but critics were quick to point out its flaws. Despite this, it's impossible to deny that Nicholson's performance as the axe murderer in The Shining is one of his best. Although his character was ultimately destroyed by the forces of the Overlook Hotel, he introduces small nuances to his character that slowly tease the audience with its gloom and horror. As a result, he becomes one of the most dreaded horror villains in history.

After The Shining, Nicholson continued to act in several other movies and received some accolades. His 1980s credits included Reds, Prizzi's Honor, and Ironweed. In the 1990s, Nicholson starred in two more critically acclaimed films, including Hoffa and A Few Good Men. In both of these films, he won his second Oscar.

Shelley Duvall

Shelley Duvall is an American retired actress and producer who is most known for playing eccentric and distinct characters. She has been a part of over thirty films and television shows. Her films have received positive reviews and received multiple awards. She has also worked as a writer and producer.

After starring in the Stanley Kubrick classic The Shining, Shelley Duvall began talking about her mental health problems. The actress recently revealed that she spent many days crying on the set. In a recent appearance on Dr. Phil, Duvall revealed that she had suffered from bipolar disorder for more than a decade. In the same interview, she also revealed that she stopped acting for over a decade after the movie. She later went on to work as an executive producer on TV movies and Bedtime Stories series.

Duvall moved to New York City in 1976, and began to act in small roles. She played a minor role in Woody Allen's cult classic Annie Hall, and also dated Paul Simon, who played a record producer in the film. She also worked on several films with Altman. One of her most famous films was 3 Women, which won her a British Academy Award nomination for Best Actress.

Danny Lloyd

American former child actor Daniel Lloyd is best known for his role as Danny Torrance in Stephen King's 1977 novel, The Shining. Lloyd's performance as Danny is memorable and a highlight of the film. The movie's cult following helped propel Lloyd to stardom. In The Shining, he played Danny Torrance, a troubled young boy who seeks revenge against his abusive father.

After being rejected by a number of roles, Lloyd's role in Will: The Autobiography of G. Gordon Liddy sparked controversy in the acting world. The film was controversial because it gave convicted burglar G. Gordon Liddy a soapbox in the film. However, Lloyd kept his role in the film secret. In the aftermath of this controversy, he has gone on to do other work.

Abra Stone

The shining Abra Stone is a supernatural novel that will delight fans of Stephen King's The Shining. The story follows Abra Stone, a powerful young girl with psychic abilities. She has the power to generate small earthquakes with her mind. Dan wants to protect Abra from dark forces, but his desire to protect her is tempered by his need for steam.
