Businesses and Ethical Concerns
Businesses that have an impact on the population that lives near where the industry is located frequently have ethical concerns about the worsening of the health of the surrounding population. Most individuals who are concerned about the issue wonder whether such firms should be permitted to continue operating or whether they should be forced to close down due to increased public demand and cease all actions relevant to the firm's operations. In accordance to the situation at hand regarding HB Fuller, I move to think that it is morally permissible for the Company to cease the production and the sale of Resistol as it is affecting the children who use the drug.
The Impact on Children
On a broader perspective, children are known to be the people who would be the leaders of the preceding generations when their parents would be no more and therefore putting the lives of children at risk would be a move to bring a whole generation to its knees. As the statistics and findings done regarding the use of the glue that the company is producing, the findings show that the products has lead to significant deterioration in the lives of the children who come in contact with the drug as opposed t the initial period before they came into contact with it. This suffices to prove that the drug is not helping the people in any particular way but rather bringing them to their knees and slowly driving them to their early graves despite the bright future that they would still be having that they are yet to explore by any means available to them.
Ethics and Human Life
The morality in my reasoning is that which serves to hold the life of a human being in the highest of esteem as opposed to material things and desires. Organizations ought to be driven by the ethics that govern their very existence and they should be operated in a way that does not destabilize the life and safety of other human beings’ lives. A case scenario is the one in which the population deteriorates in the area where the firm is situated and therefore the sales values decline. In this particular instance, the firm would not be doing itself any good by continuing to provide a commodity that makes the clients unwell but rather weakening the available market. By so doing, the company would not have people to buy its commodities and would end up falling out due to inability to cater for its expenses that are pertinence to production and sustainability of the firm.
Protecting Children's Lives
A reasonable person would without a doubt agree with me since he/she is aware of the importance of the life he/she is living and how it feel to lose one’s life. Also, the case concerned here would make them agree since the victims are children and all people are protective of children even though they may not be theirs as it is not their fault that they were of human beings and therefore have human instincts that drive them in the same direction as that of my thinking and reasoning. Any sane mind would not make a decision or suggestion that would endanger the life of a child no matter how inhuman they may be and that is another succinct reason as to why they would not think twice about being on the same line as in my line of thinking.
