Reading and writing are important skills in the learning process. The ability to use oral language is also important in learning. This paper presents the theoretical framework selected based on the research question. The research question is “what is the impact of the read 180 programs for students in the 7th grade with learning disabilities. The framework includes the following theories, cognitive learning theory, a dual level theory of new literacies, and the multiliteracies approach theory.
A dual level theory of new literacies
This theory is divided into lowercase and uppercase new literacies.it states that the internet has contributed to the changing levels of literacies. It helps to keep in pace with the changing levels of literacy. This theory helps to generate an important address to the changing levels of literacy. The theory shows that the emerging changes in the internet requires improvement in the internet skills. This because there are rapid changes in the reading, writing and communication skills. This is because of the use of the new media.
the theory shows that literacy is changing so fast in the world. The previous levels need to be improved due to the changing levels of technology. Changes in ICT and internet have contributed largely to this change.
The theory also shows that the changes in literacy are many and tend to occur repeatedly and vary from each other. There are many tools on the internet and each tool serves a different function.
There is a requirement for new knowledge. This theory states that due to the changing levels of literacy, teachers are important to educate on new literacy and their roles in the class keep changing. The classroom setting also changes. This demonstrates the impact of the read 180 programs, whereby teachers have to teach the students the new literacy knowledge in ICT and the internet. They educate the students on the emerging reading, writing and communication skills to ensure they keep in pace with the changing technology. This, therefore means there should be a need for improvement of teacher’s education.
Cognitive learning theory
The theory states that there should be a proper examination of the mental processes. The theory postulates that for effective learning to occur, a person should have an effective mental process. In order to identify a proper mental process, there should be an examination of environmental, behavior and personal factors. This is done by conducting a close examination of the environment the person interacts with. This theory states that past experiences should also be examined.
The read 180 programs can help in identifying the behavior characteristics of learners. It can also help identify their mental processes by assessing the environment the students interact in. the program helps the teachers and the relevant staff to intervene and can help to provide medication based on cognitive problems identified. The program can also help to improve the environment the students interact within learning activities. This program can help to place the students in the schools they fit in based on their needs after conducting an examination of the effectiveness of mental process among different students. This helps to improve the literacy skills of students above the literacy level. It also helps to identify the strengths and challenges of different students. This program can help in the identification of needs of students by conducting a close examination of the behavior aspects of students. This process can help determine the learning and communication skills of students.
Multiliteracies theory
The theory states that there is a changing social environment facing students. The theory explains that there are many channels of communication as well as varying cultures and linguistic. The theory devices a way of addressing the cultural and linguistic differences. It states that the use of many literacy approaches will enable the students to learn new literacy skills and learn the changing language and skills. This promotes success in learning and helps in fulfilling employment. This theory encourages the use of cultural and new technological tools to help keep in pace with the evolving technology.
This theory states that the schools should adapt to the changing and emerging levels of technology. It identifies technology and globalization the key elements affecting education. The diversity of technologies helps people in addressing themselves. This causes differences compared to the traditional classroom in terms of culture and linguistics.
The read 180 programs, in this case, is relevant in ensuring the teachers are able to assist the students to adapt to the changing environments. This program also helps the teachers to learn the diversity of cultures among the students and their differences with those of the previous period. This helps teachers to educate the students on how to accommodate the new cultures. It also helps the students to learn the changes in technology and therefore they are able to improve their literacy skills beyond proficient level. The students are able to learn new language and technology skills and therefore they become ready for employment.
This program helps to improve training on teachers to learn new issues in globalization and the emerging technologies. By learning the diversity of cultures this program helps to accommodate all students and respect their cultures. This program helps to fulfill the strategy of using many literacy approaches to improve the literacy skills of students. The program is also essential in ensuring the schools adapt to the changing levels of technology. This program can also improve a student’s language and communication skills thus improving the overall learning process.
Conclusion.
Reading, writing, and communication is an important skill in the learning process. Literacy has been changing over time and therefore students should always learn the new changes. Also, the functions of literacy have been changing over time. This has occurred due to the changes in technology and ICT. People should be able to address and respond to the new challenges caused by changes in literacy and technology. The impact of reading 180 programs is essential in many classrooms to help address and respond to the changing levels of literacy.
The read 180 programs are conducted by individual evaluation of each student, therefore, it is very relevant in addressing the diversity of cultures among students and determining the cognitive ability of different students.it should be implemented in classrooms to help address the issues of diversity identified in the theories. It is also important in helping the students learn the new languages and the changing ICT tools. It ensures the needs of the students and teachers are put into consideration during the learning process. It should be used to identify the specific needs of students such as reading and writing skills. By following the instructions of the program there should be an improvement in the language and literacy skills of students and teachers above the proficient level.
