The housing crisis in New York has been an issue of immense concern since it has been worsening in the recent years. Individuals living in the urban centers have been experiencing displacement and gentrification, and the fact has created adverse impacts on the lives of individuals and the economy of the nation. The processes involved in gentrification have led to the colonization of the affluent whites, minority neighborhoods and the poor in New York. Despite the notion that the issue of gentrification has been considered a natural procedure of change and transformation in the society, the fact that its impact has created adverse effects on the society. Statistics indicate the notion that the connection between displacement and gentrification is more nuanced and complex than what has always been thought of over the years (Tabb 72).
The New York is in an emergency state based on the housing factor that has been faced by the political leaders. The housing crisis has led to increased threats to the wellbeing, security, safety, and health of persons in the nation, and the condition is characterized by complex emergencies being experienced in the society. There is a service that has been introduced in New York by the government administrators, which is aimed at providing homes to individuals who require shelter. The buildings in the City that have been built to provide shelter have been filled and the nation is experiencing a crisis that needs immediate attention (Keith 25).
The issue of homelessness in New York has led to a situation where the de Blasio administration argues that all persons who are homeless should have to be placed in their neighborhood as new buildings are being built in the city. Despite the notion that the concept can be helpful in reducing cases of homelessness among families, it affects other family’s privacy and way of handling issues. There are diverse strategies that have been developed and implemented by the government administration of New York so as to cope with the problems faced by individuals related to the housing crisis (Keith 29).

The New York crisis has been an issue that has created an immense impact on various activities undertaken by individuals in the nation, and the government administrators should ensure that there are proper measures developed and implemented to help to curb the problem. Despite the notion that there are instances where individuals have been hosted by the neighborhood, families should be guaranteed proper shelter as it is one of the basic needs of any society. Problems related to the housing crisis in New York and other nations is characterized by increased rates of poverty, lack of adequate resources and a dirty environment, which increases the risk of diseases and other chronic issues in the society (Brudney and Jay 745).
Introducing new buildings in the city is one of the measures that should be taken into consideration by the government administrators as they try to solve the problem of housing faced in the nation. The houses built should also be sustainable and should meet the requirements of a good building, since there have been cases of collapsed houses and buildings in the recent years. The government administrators should enact laws and regulations that will help to ensure that the buildings are up to the required standards.
Availability of land and other resources required by individuals in the society should also be made available, as the process can assist in reducing the housing crisis in New York. Despite the fact that the lands may be available, there should also be the creation of job opportunities by the government administrators, so that all persons in the society can afford to purchase land and have some shelter for their families. The process is essential and should be taken into consideration when trying to ensure that all persons and families in the nation have been provided with proper housing and other resources required for their sustainability.
There are diverse challenges experienced by individuals from various nations related to the problem of housing. However, the government administrators have been trying to solve the problem by introducing new buildings and neglecting the challenges faced by the community members. Therefore, stern measures should be implemented by the government administrators in New York to ensure that the buildings have been developed, and the primary challenges of the society have been solved, which will assist in improving the economic stability of the nation.
