In Canada, stunt driving is a serious statutory offense. Most of the time, those accused of the crime have their licenses stopped for twenty-four hours and their cars impounded for seven days. The implied laws of the Canadian federal, provincial, and municipal governments prohibit stunt drivers from using the roadways as their personal playgrounds and racetracks. (Wilson, 2005).
Both individuals whose cars are impounded for excessive speeding and those who are detained for driving while intoxicated must be arrested at the scene of the crime. (Brubacher et al., 2014). However, facing a stunt driving conviction has an extreme impact on an individual’s overall well-being thus affecting the financial security, liberty, and even employment. Restrictions on the use of vehicles are important eventually.
According to the author of the article, Legislation and regulation in Canada on driver distraction, Wilson (2014) argues that control of driver's behavior forms the jurisdiction in Canada. The banning from using hand-held cellular gadgets during driving among other activities interfering driver's performance is important generally (Vingilis-Jaremko, 2013).
In Canada, stunt driving collision reports about most jurisdictions do not include a separate and distinct code. The real penalties including new set driving laws constitute stringent punishments; hence it suspends any form of stunt driving. Traffic systems used for license suspensions among most stunts are obliged by law to observe traffic rules (Meirambayeva et al., 2014). Public needs and worries hence suggest that a constrained group of car enthusiasts and car racists are increasingly concerned with the risk of committing offenses. Car crashes may then be minimal as a result. More research activities are needed to examine stunt driving
