Because the SA Police Department serves the public's interests, its information security policy should be customized to benefit members of the public. This Approach necessitates the use of IS planning tools and procedures to ensure the security of both the internal and external environments. SA Police relies on the IS strategy to keep its internal and external environments running well.
The SA Police IS strategy should be adapted to meet the needs of the public in terms of providing excellent services. Prior study should also be performed to verify that IS offers value to police operations in combating crime. Implementation of the SA Police’s IS strategy requires the review of the following strategic initiatives. First, the SA Police should review the people mandated with the role of formulating the IS strategy. A good strategic architectural system requires that skills and training should be enhanced to ensure that the objectives are achieved (Omeike 5-8). The systems and other involved processes should be put in place by implementing the right infrastructure, metrics and the governance. After these structures are laid down, the strategic team should communicate these plans to both internal and external stakeholders.
The SA Police architecture is a crucial element in the achievement of a functional IS plan. The management should ensure that all elements in the department are in a good working condition. For instance, the information, data, systems and computer architectures of the Police should be reviewed as a means of increasing the probability of success. A conducive architecture will allow the organization to implement its strategy without inconveniences and other related technical hitches (DeLuccia 27-33).
