Marketing is the management and the study of exchange relationship. This is usually created to keep the customers satisfied. Customers are mainly the primary focus of the activities of marketing, and therefore, we can say that besides innovation, marketing is the backbone of the components that make up Business Management (Cameron, 2017). Marketing involves doing research, promoting and selling of products or services and finally distributing and because of these process, it makes clients interested. All said, Marketing is going to be the profession of focus in this assignment and have settled for marketing because I love it when products and services are marketed to promote the facilities and the products as well as when clients and customers of these products and services get to identify the existence of products and services and gets the advantage of using them.


  Main Findings


     Marketing has recently become more challenging because marketers have had to be on the alert always due to the ever-changing marketing landscape and this change needs constant effort in adjusting to the new trends.


      The new 4Es.This is the new approach that will embody experience and emotion. Consumers won't have to buy the product anymore, but rather the acquire the excitement and the background. Coca-Cola, for example, does sell happiness, and that’s why customers buy from them. The value proposition of Coca-Cola is beyond the typical can of soda.


      Brands should have a profound impact on our lives and respond to our needs. Ever wonder why some brands go out of the market and stop existing and the consumers forget them completely and turn to the next brand? This is mostly because the brand did not have enough impact in the lives of the consumers that would make the consumers realise the effect its disappearance in the market would cause. I, therefore, think that brands should at least try actually to be more alive.


    General trends


     With the emergence of social media, the internet has made it possible for marketers to gather necessary information about users and hence give them an idea of how they can narrow down their message to a group of people with the same interest and habits. This is an effective way of reaching out to consumers. Data also enables us to collect information on consumer behaviour, their preferences and interests. In this era of time, consumers need a personal approach and individual service. When a brand shows its client that it cares, it can go a long way into building a firm relation with them.


     Influencer marketing is another trend in marketing. Most consumers are willing to trust recommendations from the internet in cases where the consumer do not have precise information about a brand, and therefore, these kinds of influencers should be trustworthy. Most of the brands have started cooperating with influencers and the general marketing communication. To be able to involve people in your marketing communication, one can find influencers who are interested in the brand, and they can come up with good stuff.


      Most consumers would want a real life thing. Whatever is featured in media depicts perfect things which are why most consumers wish to real life thing. Brands must, therefore, focus on the consumer's real problems and needs to reach out on a number of them.


       Living in an era where there are constant changes in basically everything, it becomes harder for the marketers. Marketers sometimes find themselves hooked to a specific app or a social media platform and by the time it starts working for them, it’s replaced by something different and new (Cameron, 2017). To curb such scenario, a marketer needs to stay top of things and adapt to new technologies and stick to their target audience in the platform they use.


       Good music is playing an important role in advertising and marketing. Brands are creating an emotional connection with their target audience and come up with brand recognition. Music is a universal language that enables us to communicate our thoughts and opinions on a global platform. This hence impacts our feelings, and our moods and this alone is a good reason why marketing needs to be using music.


          On the development of the expectations of employers in marketing, it is vital that brands differentiate the increase in consumer’s space. The reason why marketers rating at their workplace is high is that the ratings are varied and not always what is expected. The human approach to employer branding is important.Good employer’s brands mostly have a human touch and interactively communicating the brand can lead to significant loyalty.

    In the field of marketing, various crafts, experience and knowledge are required.


     Skills.


      Communication skills.


      Marketing involves communication because it consists of communicating to the public about why they should buy a brand you are marketing or why they should engage in whatever you are marketing. This type of communication might be verbal or in writing as the marketer might be needed to have a phone conversation or create a multimedia campaign. In cases where there is direct involvement with the buyer, the marketer must also be fluent and eloquent.


         Technology skills.


      These skills are essential in the involvement of project management software and the use of analytic programs. Both of them are used for tracking the progress of campaign and measure of the success of social media success respectively.


         Negotiation skills.


       Although this skill is most undervalued, it’s an important aspect of marketing. A marketer should be able to negotiate budgets, expectations and timelines. The ability to drive a bargain is a big success for a marketer.


     Creativity.


     Each marketer should think of new and better ways and ideas that will appeal to their clients. It might involve coming up with an amusing concept or a design or generally the ability to think outside the box.


     Analytical Thinking.


     The marketer should be able to engage in a lot of research-based analysis that will determine the needs and wants of the clients. Marketers should change course based on the information they get, and they should be able to draw a logical conclusion based on the data and the information received.


           Knowledge and Experience.


     When one chooses to major in Marketing and make it their career field, they should have the following qualifications. The entry qualifications vary from one company to another, but most employers would prefer employers with a higher level of learning like a degree, subjects that are business related, and experience on a job on a similar field of career. A career in marketing, however, does not entirely depend on the academic background but subsequent expertise and industry knowledge (Alsops, G and McBride, F, 2010). Apart from these, training is an important thing for some employers sending you to external training. Some prominent organisations also hold their in-house courses and therefore, having a specific degree or diploma is not necessarily an entry bar.


       Profession qualification will also help in climbing of the cooperate ladder. This professional qualification will mean that one is up to date with the development in the industry and that one is committed to the best practice as a marketer. Previous work experience will also give one a good insight on how an organisation is operated.

         Marketing is a course in whose primary focus is on all the business activities that bring goods and services to customers, but recall that we said marketing also applies to people, places, and ideas.  To actualise this, it is upon an individual to plan and implement a marketing program in which the product is you, and the customer is your prospective employer.

      Conclusion


     Given that I have tackled all these issues which are revolving around marketing and as an interested party who has some expertise in marketing. This will build my carrier profession in marketing where I will be able to integrate some of the concepts which, in turn, helps in merging with the dynamics within the marketing environment. Therefore, from the report, I can confirm that it has served as a build-up to my professionalism as I intend to further my professionalism in marketing.
