To be sure, a cursory glance at the article informs the reader that the topic is the electrical wiring connections in Birmingham's International Convention Center. Despite a well-articulated topic, the opening of the article fails to succinctly and clearly define the issue. In other words, by reading the introduction, the audience cannot determine what the author intends to discuss. While the essay covers topics such as electricity networks, supply, loads, HV and LV distributions, lightning protection, and earthing, the introduction focuses on the functions and purposes of the ICCB. Further, the introduction expounds on the structure and compatibility of the building instead of clearly and briefly outlining the topic of the paper.
Review of literature and methodology
In his article, Kelvin Jones does not review any literature, mainly because his article inclines more towards a report than a research. Most of the information integral to the report is based on first-hand observation rather than research review. For instance, the author writes about the structure of the ICCB and its wiring network. Arguably, the only time the author reviewed literature is when writing about the history of ICCB. Consequently, there is neither an emphasis on literature nor a set procedure or layout for the topic.
Results
In tandem with its topic, the paper clearly expounds on the sophisticated electricity infrastructure in the International Convention Center, Birmingham. First, the author explains the macro features and networks of the building before focusing on the micro details such as LV and HV distribution. For clarity, the author integrates diagrams and bullet points that enhance understanding.
Personal View
Overall, the article’s structure and information are above average. Not only is the data highly informative about the electricity services in the International Convention Center, but the structure greatly enhances readability. Through the article, I learned new concepts of implementing wiring in a huge building. The paper closely relates to unit EC101 which expounds on electrical systems. Since it was done in 1984, the project and the report are old and hence inferior to modern technology. Report was the primary method of communication and it was highly effective.

The title of this article clearly conveys its subject and the interdiction clearly and briefly outlines the topic. Notably, a quick glance at both the title and introduction hints to the reader that the paper will focus on orders inherent in distribution power utilities. One is aware that the article will expound on the critical task of managing the economical and technical of demand with limited resources.
