Some of the people that can help me build my professional and academic networks include my lecturers, our head of school, relatives, close family members, and even current and former classmates. There are also some people in the community such as my religious leader, family friends or neighbors, and the local leader.

I would like to join the International Youth Leaders’ Association. Joining this organization will help me meet accomplished leaders from around the world who can offer mentorship. I am most likely to find young people in my career who can assist with important links.

Some of the academic associations or clubs that can help me with my academic network include the International Students’ Association, Athletics Club, Mathematics Students Association, Public Speaking Club, Environment Club, Red Cross, YMCA, among others. These are clubs where I can meet students and interact with them about both academic and social issues.

I can use social media in diverse ways to improve my professional and academic networks. I can like and follow pages of professional groups where I can gain valuable insights about my career. I can also join groups on social media that discuss academic matters in campus. Moreover, I can form social media groups and attract students who share the same interests.

The head of my faculty can be a mentor in my career. He is an accomplished professional who has a well-developed network in my field. He can advise me on the approach to take to succeed because he has also practiced in the industry, besides being a lecturer. In addition, he can link me up with some of his former students for job opportunities after I graduate.

I can continue to examine my career goals over time my assessing the job market and observe the changes taking place. For example, going through the vacancy section of the newspaper and other job platforms can reveal job demands in the market. Besides, taking to people in diverse careers during social gatherings can help assess career opportunities. I want to change my mind from one career to another, I will consult with my parents first and the faculty head.
