According to Koch, the world of today is not realizing the principles of democracy because women's rights are still being violated. Women play an essential role in our society, and therefore, their status should be elevated, and their rights safeguarded. Also, nations need to realize that women play a significant role in the realization of developments in a country. According to the author, developed nations started to advocate for the rights of women a long time ago, and this is the reason they have more developments than the developing countries. Although much has been done by feminist groups as well as organizations concerning changing the status of women, male chauvinism still exists. Therefore, more need to be done to ensure that women enjoy the same rights as men in modern society. There is a need to articulate the rights of women as human rights so that they can be taken with the seriousness they deserve (Koch, 2015).
